As Bob’s oldest sister he and I shared a close relationship. After Bob left the Navy he tried relocating. He spent some time in Florida and California but ultimately found his place at home in CT. In the ‘80s he moved up to Manchester, near me and my family. He worked as a mechanic, made friends and settled in. We shared many good times at family dinners and summer trips to upstate NY where we had a summer home. Bob was always full of good natured fun and helpfulness.

When times were tough for him he would stay with us at my home until he could get on his feet. He took life in stride, a trait that I wish I had, but he always landed on his feet. I loved his sense of humor. He and I shared our favorite TV shows! He loved CPTV documentaries and especially studies of outer space. One of his favorites was Neil DeGrasse Tyson, an astrophysicist and author, who had his show on CPTV.

I’ll miss my little brother but it rests my heart to know he is at peace. Thanks to all who have sent their condolences in remembrance of Bob. I found it particularly comforting to hear from his friends, John Sittnick and Joe Bates. He shared much of his childhood with them!

Bob and I were friends in the early 80's, went our separate ways, and then miraculously crossed paths again in 2007, growing close and seeing each other often as he visited me at work both in Manchester and in Hartford. Bob brightened my day with stories of his adventures, never failing to make me laugh. I'll miss Bob's happy-go-lucky approach to life, the way he shrugged off adversity, his many sweet texts, our lunches at Bear's Smokehouse, and the way he loved his dog, Sky. Rest in peace, Bob. I miss you.
