My sister Enid Johns and I were students at Fisk University at the same time as Father Hunter and Dorothea. My daughter Amy also attended his church in Washington, DC.
It was our good fortune to have known him.

My heartfelt condolences to the Hunter family. Rev Hunter was part of my adulting years and I will forever be grateful for his guidance and love as I grew from college sophomore to senior citizen. (He'd get a kick out of me saying this.) His presence was steady and assuring; I thank God for him in my family's life. I will always hear his "Daughter..." Prayers and love to the family.

Bob Hunter was an upperclassman when I arrived at Fisk University in 1954. He introduced himself to me then and we have been friends ever since. I joined his fraternity, he was always available to talk with for advice . He started dating one of the nicest and prettiest girls in our class, oh how I envied him. He had the good fortune to marry her and live "happily ever after" In recent years years , due to the internet, our friendship renewed. He was a big user or e-mails and so am I. We exchanged many jokes and serious articles about issues of the day. It was good to renew our friendship after many years. Just by coincidence I had called Dorothea a week before Bob passed. We talked for about 30 min. about old times and our respective families. It was so good to catch up on the lives of old friends. It was with great shock and sadness that I learned less than a week later that my long time fiend had passed peacefully in his sleep. What a wonderful way to go!! My sincere condolences to the entire Hunter family. Leonard & Norma Davis
