HUNTER, Robert Neil
August 31, 1937 to January 14, 2015
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Neil Hunter after a courageous battle with cancer at the Santuari Hospice of the Peter Lougheed Centre. Neil was born in Tuberose, Sk and grew up in Swift Current, Sk. He served 10 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force, stationed in Cold Lake, AB and Germany. He later settled in Calgary, AB. Neil was employed with a number of different companies even entered the real estate market for a short time. He was very well known in the oil and gas industry, oilfield construction and being passionate in marketing and business development. His work involved many national and international projects. Left to mourn is his loving wife Georgene of 40 years. He was a devoted father to son Race (Joann) daughter Carmen (Kevin) son Sean (Rhonda) and son Cam (Marlane).Granddaughter Courtney (Derek) grandsons Ryan (Kelsey) Cooper, Austin, Morgan and Jackson. Great-grandson Braxton. He is also survived by sister Eleanor, sister Shirley (Stanley) and brother Wayne (Judy) and many brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. Neil was predeceased by his son Scott. It was Neil's wishes not to have a formal funeral. There will be a private celebration of Neil's life on January 24, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Strathmore District Health Services Home Care (200 Brent Blvd Strathmore, Alberta T1P 1J9) or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation c/o the Tom Baker Cancer Centre (1331 29 Street NW Calgary, Alberta T2N 4N2). Rick and I are so sad to hear the news of your passing, YOU were the most "wonderful, witty neighbor(from the Hood in Whitehorn), that enjoyed the odd glass of wine and a laugh with friends. I have a huge lump in my throat for Georgia and all your family. Take Care of them from above just like you did from here.
Life was never the same without you being our neighbor and now it will just have to be sweet memories.

Georgene - Saddened to hear the news of Neil's passing. Our condolencesa to his and your familes. Neil was always considered a favorite member of the Dawson family and his stories and warm laughter will be remembered with warm thoughts.
