Robert J. Jachino, 83 of Naples, FL, and Greenwich, CT, passed away on June 26, 2018 surrounded by his beloved wife and family. Bob was born in Nokomis, IL, in 1934, son of Peter and Mina Jachino. He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with an MBA.

Bob embarked upon a successful career in publishing in many cities across the US including Dallas, NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Stamford. He also spent much of his time abroad. In 2002, he retired from The Thomson Corporation after a distinguished career holding many leadership roles. He had served on a board at Bessemer Trust and was a board member of The Founders Fund for education scholarships in Naples.

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years Elaine Ross Jachino. Their two sons Peter Jachino (Randi) of Greenwich, CT and Christopher Jachino (Laura) of Darien, CT. He adored his three grandchildren: Jack, Lindsay, and Robby.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His generosity, big heart, honesty, ethics, and values were admirable. He was an avid reader, golfer, and wine enthusiast. In his youth, he played the drums and sang vocals as a band member, as well as, playing AAA baseball for the Dodgers and during his time in service he played catcher on the Navy baseball team. Bob was a long-time member of the Greenwich Country Club in Greenwich, CT and the Club at Pelican Bay in Naples, FL. Bob made many friends in Greenwich and Naples.

The family is grateful to the caregivers at Moorings Park and Avow Hospice in Naples.

Memorial Services will be held on August 3, 2018 at 11:00am at Christ Church in Greenwich, CT. A second celebration of life service in Naples, FL will be held at a later date.
