In memory of
John Ferullo
May 6, 2021
Bob was my teacher, my coach, my mentor but most of all my friend. The last lesson which he imparted to me was how he faced his final challenge and accepted death (Donna you were there when I last saw him at Whittier). The last time that I talked to him was a lesson of courage and will forever remain in my memory. Wow it has been 8 years! I still feel the void in the world

Knew Bob for over 40 years. One of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. My dad Reggie, Ed, and Bob are singing every Friday night, to a larger crowd now. God Bless you Bob, you were one of a kind!!! Peter Rigopoulos

I met Bob as my earth science teacher in 1964, but served as my first football coach from 1964 to 1968. He remained my friend and above all a father-figure for me re-enforcing the lessons that my own biological father provided. He permanently occupies a special corner of my heart and memory. He taught me how to play football, but more important how to apply the rules and lessons of football to living life

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Jachowicz's death. I have many fond memories of him as a science teacher and in connection with the variety shows at "South High". Ironically, I heard "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Autumn Leaves", two songs he convinced me to sing in those variety shows, just recently. Thoughts and prayers are with his family. Pam Laquidara Woods

"Coach" as he was affectionately called I recall as a kind teacher who loved his school and football team members. He taught the players teamwork that was beneficial in life. He also had a sense of humor and the picture of him in the '64 Philomath (advertising pages) comes to mind. He was a member of the Framingham Housing Authority and his name is on a plaque in the building where I live. Honors over the years, he
truly has earned. "A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one's being born...(Eccl.7:1). We will see him in a better life in the resurrection on earth during the 1000 reign of Christ Jesus, the son of Jehovah God.

my sympathy to the family. i first met coach in the halls of lincoln jr. high peeking into his art class trying to get a look at some girl i fancied at the time. he caught me and came out to have our first ever conversation. when i was a junior in high school he became my football coach. that was our championship season. i wasn't a standout player like bunky or brad but i was part of the nut squad and he made us feel just as much a part of the team as any of the great players that were on it. guys like downing, magoo, moreau, rhett, ferullo, balls, and of course our 'bad boy' sasville who for those who were on the team remember, predicted we would be number one right there on our team picture. i loved watching the films when coach would make us all laugh, compliment the good, and critique the bad. i remember the 8-6 heartbreak vs walpole and the joy of north defeating them on thanksgiving. that was the day the two schools really merged. he made even the practices fun although i'd take a beating from sasville and newman even on friday walk thrus. i only saw him really angry once and it was because he was not going to stand for any kind of racism on his team. later he would be my coach again, this time for the variety show. i never knew anyone who worked so tirelessly on behalf of everyone whether he was coaching football players or students. every now and then after graduation i would run in to him somewheres in town and that smile and laugh were always still present. i had much love and respect for this man for the kindness he always showed me. my heart goes out to his family. r.i.p. coach.

It was so sad to hear of Mr. Jachowicz's passing. We were in hopes of his attending our 50th Class of 1963 Reunion in September. He will be dearly missed. He was such a source of encouragement to me as a teenager, especially with the Senior Variety Show. Many years later I was privileged to join he and his other vocal partners on many Friday nights at the Imperial Garden. Not only was he a wonderful teacher, coach and mentor, but he had a wonderful voice and very memorable smile. My condolences to his family and all who will be affected by his loss. Jeanie Lovering

What to say? Bob was an integral part of my life ( and all us Convery's lives) since the day we were born. Saturday afternoons after football games, Fourth of July and Patriot's Day cookouts, thousands of songs by Bob, Reg, and Dad. Monday night political
arguments at your house or ours each week. (I always tried to stay awake to listen). Sharing vacation days on the Cape or in Rhode
Island. I will miss him terribly. All my sympathy and thanks for
sharing him with all of us.

Oh how we shall miss those cheerful
greetings and the warm companionship
which prevailed wherever you found Bob---at home or in a group--such as the unforgettable morning gatherings of the Dunkin Donut Kaffee Klatsch at Concord Street.I treasure my recollections of the beginnings of our association--I was a newsman and Bob was the genial and loved coach of FHS football team and head of the art department--and a key member of the famous coterie of Framingham teachers who revolutionized the role of teaching(and getting a more decent salary for it). There were the memorable weekday afternoon impromptu meeeting--after school was out and after The News had gone to bed--at the unforgettable Wellworth restaurant. Of particular
joy was to be with Bob and his
fidus achates,Ed Convery, patriarch of the Convery clan, at all kinds of gatherings, and especially as voluntary entertainers at the Imperial China restaurant where each year they led singing celebrations of the Twelve Days of Christmas and
St.Patrick's Day. There has been a notable lack of that old exuberance
that was such a part of any get-together where Bob was present,or when Bob and Ed were in attendance. It was a pleasure each November to attend the pre-Thanksgiving get-togetherss at the Jachowicz house which attracted
coaching friends and many other friends with whom Coach Bob maintained contact. As Art Department head Bob was a major player in preparing sets for the various plays and musicals and he helped to mobilize students for these tasks--something they long remembered.
So it is Goodbye to one who left
a positive feeling about life
wherever he was. For each of us he was a friend and a mentor and
an inspiration to make the mosts of our lives.
