Robert Jordan, III Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 9, 2024.
Robert Wilburn Jordan, III, known affectionately as "Robby," passed away on July 25, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 44. Born on November 21, 1979, in Stephenville, Texas, to Nancy Delphine Jordan and Robert "Bob" Jordan, II. Robby was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew him.

Robby graduated from Porter High School in 1998 and later earned an Associate's degree in Biblical Studies from Rhema Bible College. His commitment to service was evident through his tenure as an Infantry Rifleman in the United States Marine Corps from April 2001 to April 2005. During his service, he was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and achieved the rank of Sergeant. After his active duty, he continued to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve Unit.

In September 2006, Robby began a fulfilling career at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Medical Center as a HR Specialist and Recruiter. His role at the VA allowed him to support fellow Veterans, reflecting his deep commitment to those who served.

Robby's faith played a significant role in his life. He was a devoted follower of Jesus.

Robby loved his child Kearstyn Jordan more than anything in life, and everyone who knew Robby knew how special their bond was. Together they enjoyed the country life, video games, reading, movies, camping, animals and horses. For Christmas Robby gifted Kearstyn a horse which they named Auburn. Together they planned to raise and ride Auburn as Robby had an affinity for horses. Although they never had the chance to live this dream together, Kearstyn has plans to take riding lessons on Auburn in her father's memory and honor. Kearstyn will begin her first semester at Oklahoma State University (OSU) within the School of Architecture where Robby believed she would combine her love of math and art. Robby also leaves behind one stepdaughter named Brooke, his brother Patrick Jordan, sisters Evelyn Hayes and Elizabeth Jordan and father Robert "Bob" Jordan, II. Amongst family awaiting him in heaven, Robby was rejoined with his mother Delphine Jordan and his nephew Dominic Hayes.

An intimate Veteran's funeral for immediate family and fellow Veterans will be held on August 13, 2024, at the National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Additionally, a public church service is scheduled for 2:00 pm August 13th at Abundant Rain Church, located at 12425 S 273rd East Ave, Coweta, OK.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to support his daughter Kearstyn's college fund can be made at http://spot.fund/2gtvjjce . This gesture would honor Robby's legacy of love and support for his daughter's educational aspirations.

I met Robby through a Sunday school class and he would hang out with our crew. Generous and always ready with a witty comeback. He brought a lot of joy.

I asked him to do the marine chant grunt thing that marines do , he was smiling so big, he was shaking his head no, I said awe come on do it just do it, he said hold on let me get myself together. Then he stood up and did it in the hair shop real loud, everyone heard him, was such a beautiful moment.

I tend to vent frustrations on social media, and Robert would find my posts and leave a comment that would ground me and remind me to be humble.

This is unbelievable, so unexpected, so hard to process. I keep replaying moments in my head and have flashbacks of every time I´ve seen him.. I cut Rob`s hair every three weeks for over 14 years, with a few of exceptions when he moved to Tulsa for a while. And then I told him he ghosted me. Every time he came in, he always had a smile on his face was always happy and always upbeat and always positive and always had everybody laughing. He was always joking about something and it was always a pleasure to see him every time.. I remember telling him one day that he reminded me of John Travolta in staying alive, He always had on these flashy clothes. I told him I could totally see him walking down the street to that song in the movie and he was laughing. He just had that swagger about him. Almost every time he came in, I would turn the TV to impractical jokers and sometimes I would have to stop cutting his hair because he couldn´t stop laughing. And then I couldn´t stop laughing because he would be laughing. And he would sit in the waiting chair waiting on me to finish a haircut in the front of the shop I worked in the back, And when I would finish my customer, I would yell Rob you ready and he would look up from his phone and just stare at me because I was yelling across the shop and then he would say are you ready? Smiling real big.
One day I was doing this ladies hair and she asked me if that guy up there was waiting on me, I said, is he, tall, dark and handsome? She said yes he is !!! When I told him he had the biggest smile on his face blushing. We had a lot of good talks over the years and a lot of deep talks. As his last words texting me was, I´ll be praying for you... I could tell the last time I cut his hair something was different and I only wish now that I would´ve dug a little deeper. Rob had a big heart and a gentle soul. I know he loved his family more than anything all of them. My heart is so broken. I know and believe when Jesus said I go to prepare a place for you.. I know I will see him again.

I first met Robby when I started working in Human Resources at the VA in September 2010. The first day that I met him, he greeted me with a big smile which eased my nerves, and we became friends from that day on. Robby supported me when I became the Staffing Supervisor and later the Human Resources Officer. He was a good person and will be greatly missed.

When I started working at the VA. Robby was taking my picture for my ID. I had him take it over and over until I liked it. While it was printing I kept looking at him. He asked, what are you looking at? I said, those beautiful blue eyes. He smiled and said, Here is your perfect picture ID. We laughed. We has a very special relationship. We fought, said what we thought to each other. He was like my brother and I loved him. I will truly miss those eyes, smile and all the hugs an the smooches. I love you Robby and will always.

Rest in the most peace, Robby.

Robby was a kind soul. He had a deep love for Christ and ... Again .. was such a kind soul.
Robby mentored me throughout my beginning walk with Department of VA. He extended such kindness and I will never be able to repay him for those moments. So much love and peace for his daughters and family. Although Robby's energy could never escape, he will be missed. To know Robby was to love him.
My sincerest condolences to his daughter, K and his ex wife, C.

Fly high Robby - I hope you know how sad this is and how much you are missed. Love you man.
