Agnes had such a warm smile and easy manner. I really enjoyed our many chats while working together at LM. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her loved ones.

I worked with Agnes at L+M for many yearsI'm so sad to learn of her passing. She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh! I'm glad to have known and worked with Agnes, and I'll keep your family in my thoughts during this difficult time.

I was distraught writing Mom's obituary as we did not expect her to leave us as quickly as she did and I didn't quite capture who she was. Just some other things I've thought of in the last few days: Mom was extremely social. She would talk to anyone! When I brought her to the L + M Cancer Center on her treatment days, it was always a task to keep her moving along because she couldn't resist chatting up anyone who crossed her path. Mom was a fierce (ahem, opinionated) Democrat. Several Christmases ago, I was amused to find that a Christmas card from the Obamas had taken precedence on her mantel, covering up a photo of her beloved grandson. We ribbed her about that one for awhile. Her sense of direction--terrible! In the mall coming off an escalator, she'd stop right at the bottom and look around helpless, annoying the heck out of people piling up behind her. My mother loved me and my brother to the ends of the earth, but she was never shy about sharing her opinions on our appearance (my brother's "too long" hair, that I needed some lipstick or earrings to "brighten up" my face). Mom was meticulous about her appearance. A couple days before she passed away, I noticed that she was wearing lipstick and her "rouge" and when she caught sight of her hair in a mirror, I had to promise her that when we got her home, I'd take her to get her hair done. Lastly, I hope Mom, wherever she is, has met up with Diane Haigh, who was her lifelong friend, a true mensch who, too, passed away too soon. Mom loved telling me how Diane and she played with their cats together when they were little girls growing up in Poquonock Bridge. I hope all the cats Mom adopted through the years--Frankie, Tucker, and especially Buffy--are with her now, wherever her spirit is.
