Dear Krodel Family: Your Father was a special and unusual man...Always full of funny things to say and music in his heart, all the time. I remember such fun we always had in West Virginia and when he and Liz visited us in Gettysburg. He will be missed by so many people who's lives he had touched with his voice. I have a picture of Bob and his chorus in England, singing "The White Cliffs of Dover" in front of those special cliffs. I will never forget him. Rest in Peace Dear Friend...Cousin Ruth Ruckman Neal

Our sincere condolences to Rob and the rest of the family. Bob was influential in introducing me to and instilling a love of barbershop harmony. In the middle 1970s, mainly through Bob's encouragement, I served as his chorus director at the Rose City Chorus, and remember singing late into the evening in pick-up quartets at St. Mark's Church on Monday nights. He will be dearly missed and I will think about him as my favorite Baritone. Over the years I loved walking into the rehearsals and hear Bob begin leading the song for me: 'You're as welcome as the flowers in May!', and then invite me to lead the chorus in 'The Old Songs' or 'Keep America Singing'.

I have to agree, Mr. Krodel was alway impeccably dressed! In more recent years while caring of his wife Elizabeth they were both out and about finely dressed. He took such good care of her.
Always a wonderful man with a great smile.
RIP.

I hadn't seen Mr. Krodel since I left for the Army in 1989, but when Dad mentioned his name, I remembered him immediately. I was an acolyte at St. Marks for many years, and he was always out front, sharply dressed in his light blue suit, greeting folks with the kindest of smiles. Whenever the robes weren't where they were supposed to be, or I needed a new wick, he managed to get things in order before the organ begin to play. I was fortunate to have met such a wonderful man, and he will always have a place in my heart. My prayers go out to all.

Such wonderful memories of almost nightly stops at the house for coffee and everyone holding their sides because of another story from your Dad. Hundreds of Barbershop picnics and shows and always lots of laughs. Dad was such a good man and such a good friend to Barbara and Ray. Margaret, Karen and Rob - you chose wonderful parents. Enjoy the memories. Thinking of you all. Carol
