To the Kroner Family:
The "Chief", as my husband so affectionately called him each time we would meet up with him in Wendy's/Ross Twp. Chief Kroner and my husband knew each other over 30 years through working for Allegheny County. Mr. Kroner always had a smile and took time to ask our daughter questions about school and her activities. She grew to affectionately call him the "Chief" as well. My husband always said he was the greatest law enforcement officer this city ever had. He had a genuine smile and caring attitude about him. We know that he was met in heaven with open arms by Our Lord saying "Welcome home, Chief."
My daughter said that going to Wendy's will never be the same without seeing his smiling face. WE miss you, Chief, but we hope that we will see you again someday.

Dear Bev and family,
I am very fortunate to work with Bev in Denver and have had the opportunity to get to know her over the last 5 years. I've heard so many wonderful stories about Bev's father and her family. These stories always made me smile and laugh. Warm wishes to Bev and her family during this difficult time. We are all thinking of you from Denver.

Dear Kroner Family,
Although I did not have the pleasure of serving under Mr. Kroner, I and everyone on the County Police owe a debt of thanks to the man who transformed our department into the professional law enforcement agency that it is today. I would not be assigned to the detective division had it not been for Mr. Kroner's leadership, vision, and dedication. Our department grew so much under his leadership and that is something all County Police men and women should be thankful for. I am deeply sorry for your family's loss and I know Allegheny County is deeply sorry that we have lost a great man.

Dear Kroner Family,
I grew up in Lawrenceville and attended school with Beverly. Although it has been a long time, I always remember Mr. Kroner being kind and gentle to anyone he met. Always had a smile to share. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. I lost both of mine and through the years the pain lessens, but you never forget. Take care and know that he is in a better place smiling down on you. God's Blessing and peace,
Donna (Mance) Minish

To the Loving Wife and Family of Robert Kroner,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your very dear loved one. I worked with Bob in Special Service and truly never met anyone who could match his ability to handle any situation he was given with such professionalism. He also was so caring and a true gentleman. I am sorry I could not offer my sympathy to you personally, but want you to know he is in our prayers as well as all of you during this time of your sorrow. May God Bless You.

Dear Kroner Family,
Your dad was extremely kind and gentle, and during my time in Lawrenceville, was such a help and guiding force for the community. Your father knew my father well. My father passed on many years ago, but your dad always seemed to mention him and showed his respect for him through me. I pray for your loss. He was a great man, and his passing is a passing of an era of truely honest and well liked men.

TO THE KRONER FAMILY, MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY I'VE WORKED 35 YRS. FOR THE COUNTY AND HAD THE GREAT OPPERTUNITY TO WORK WITH BOB ON MANY OCATIONS, "WHAT A GREAT MAN" AS I HEARD TOM FOERSTER SAY EVERY TIME ANYONE MENTIONED BOB KRONER'S NAME,AND HE WAS, AND AS MANY OTHERS HAVE SAID IN THIS GUEST BOOK HE WAS GENUINE OR WHAT I LIKE TO CALL "OLD SCHOOL". THE LAST TIME I TALKED WITH HIM HE WAS TRYING TO HELP SOMEONE WITH A JOB. HE REALLY DID CARE A LOT ABOUT PEOPLE. HE TRULY WAS A GREAT MAN. THAT GENUINE SMILE & WARM GREETING WILL BE MISSED BY ALL OF US WHO WERE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO KNOW HIM. GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!!!

My condolence to the Kroner Family.
I don't know if you will remember me, but I lived in Cotton Way, our back yards met each other. We were friends and did things together. We moved away in 1960. I know it is hard losing a parent, I have lost both of mine, and I have also lost my brother. Try to remember all the good times you had together with him, I know it will be hard. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Bev and family,
The following is a proverb called the Intelligent Heart that I came across a few days ago in one of my classes. It seems to fit with everything that I have read and know about your father.
I am very sorry for the loss of your father and wish you the very best in all that is to come.
The Intelligent Heart
If we seek to manifest love by utilizing our inherent abilities to serve others in whatever we are doing, we find the greatest opportunity for development, for then we are giving expression to our love for our neighbors and ourselves.

Kathy (Ms. Kroner)I am a former student of St. Mary's. I remember your father from the neighborhood (Lawrenceville). He was always quite genuine, very nice, and always smiled at me. I saw him a few years ago, in my present neighborhood of Ross. Even though I wasn't sure he knew who I was, he still smiled at me and always had something nice to say. I felt feel very close to him. I felt that way because I knew that he was from Lawrenceville, and so was I. People who are truly from Lawrenceville never renounce their heritage, and are proud to be from such a close community. That is what makes your dad in a league of his own.
May his soul rest in peace.

Mike,
I am saddened to learn of your fathers unexpected passing. My memories of him as a little boy, young man, and adult revolve around his friendship with my father, Rege. What a loyal, devoted friend your father was to him and my mother. He was such a help to my mother and our family during my father's illness and death. Words can't describe the respect I had for your father. All I can say is "Thank you, Mr. Kroner for being a true friend to my father." May you and your family find comfort in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's mercy, rest knowing there is a home prepared for your Father.
Respectfully,
Keith Accettulla

I worked for Superintendent Kroner for many years; two of those years were as his Administrative Assistant for the county police. During that time we became very good friends to the extent of he and his wife Ann would attend my family party’s. I considered him a great advisor and a great leader. I will miss our talks on the phone and going to lunch with him, everywhere he went people knew him, and he knew them. He would ask about their family and he genuinely cared about them. He was a great friend and will be sorely missed by all.

I was so very sorry to learn of Bob's death. I am Maggie (Kapp) DeFazio, daughter of Sonny and Connie Kapp. A few years ago, Bob was very helpful to me when I called to ask for his assistance with our family genealogy. He told me a few little stories about my grandma (Annie Kroner Kapp), who died when I was only two, so I had no memory of her. He also filled me in on some of our ancestors, and connected me to another family member who was also very helpful. My condolences go out to all of your family.

My sincere condolences to the entire Kroner family at this difficult time.
I was fortunate enough to get to know your Father through my Dad and Grandfather, Bill & Tom Dougherty. Bob would come to my home with Tommy Scherer to visit my Dad during his fight with cancer and always had a kind word with that gentle smile and that ever present firm hand shake. It would always bring a smile to my Dads face as well as ours when your Dad would come for a visit. Your father was a very kind and gentle person who I am sure was loved and respected by all those who came in contact with him; I know our family surely felt that way about him.
May God and the Angels watch over you during this difficult time and may your Dad rest in eternal peace.
Our Deepest Sympathy to you all.

My family and I are truly saddened by the loss of this of the great man. Not only was he a good husband and father but a good person. No matter where he was even if a restraunte he spoke to you and made you feel he cared. All police offices now should look in his direction and see how to become a great office and a role model for others. He will be missed by all of Lawrenceville a community that he inspired.
Thank you Bob for teaching us to be better people and strong leaders.
