Robert Kuwada Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 3, 2025.
Robert Alan Kuwada died on May 18, 2025, at 71 years of age from heart issue complications. Robert was born in San Jose, California, the third of five children. In 1971, he graduated from San Jose High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1974. From 1978 to 2004, he worked as a peace officer for the State of California. He ended his career as a Marshall in the U.S. Courthouse system from 2005 to 2015. Robert moved to Santa Clara, California in 1983 and lived there until his death.

Robert enjoyed cooking, shopping, and working on his boat and taking it out fishing. His 2006 Corvette was his pride and joy, and enjoyed participating in the many Santa Clara Corvettes activities. After retirement, Robert did a lot of traveling. With the Santa Clara Corvettes, he enjoyed road trips, exploring the Northwestern parts of the United States and Southwestern Canada. Cruising on his favorite cruise line, Celebrity Cruises, was another favorite pastime, voyaging to Europe, Alaska, the Caribbean, and parts of the South Pacific.

Robert is survived by his wife Sharon, daughters Lisa Cassidy and Kimmie Kuwada (Rona), grandsons Paxton Cassidy, Mason Cassidy, and Kamden Kuwada. Further survived by his brothers Jerry, Wayne, and Patrick and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Alice Kuwada, his sister Mary Ann, and his son Paul.

A celebration of life will take place in the Fellowship Hall at Wesley United Methodist Church, (566 N 5th Street, San Jose, CA 95112) on July 26, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Dress is casual. The church website has parking information. In lieu of flowers and Koden, a donation to Yu-Ai Kai Japanese American Community Senior Service (588 N 4th St. San Jose, CA 95112), Wesley United Methodist Church, or the American Red Cross would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I knew Robert´s parents Paul and Alice at Yu-Ai Kai and the VA where I worked as a Social Worker since the 1980´s. We also attended some family gatherings.
Robert and Sharon walked their chihuahuas regularly and I loved the limes he gave us. We will miss him as a friend and neighbor.

Rest in peace my friend. My condolences to the family on the passing of a gentleman. I worked with Bob while at the state. He was decidedly, respected and worked until the investigations were concluded. When we needed some humor Bob answered the call.

Bobby, You and I met in Kindergarten and continued our friendship and schooling all the way to our senior year at San Jose High. Your calm presence and easy-going manner always made me feel so safe and relaxed, you were always there as a friend throughout. I will miss you, My Friend, see you on the other side...much love to Sharon and the family during this difficult time...

I am very sad to hear that Bob has passed. When Bob worked as an investigator with the State of California, I would often be his partner while conducting field investigations. He was the best partner I ever had! Bob approached his work with the same high energy level as I did. Working with Bob was downright fun! I could always count on him to watch my back as I did the same for him. Bob would always talk about his family and his children. He really loved them! The world has lost someone special. Bob was one of the `Good´ guys. I will always remember him and pray for his family. Family was one of the most important things to Bob. Please accept my condolences and prayers.

Our Sincere Condolences to the Kuwada Family. Worked with Bob many years and he was a HOOT to work with, knowledgeable, professional, a man you always wanted watching your back. With Bob's passing we lost a great friend, and someone you know really enjoying retirement. Always thought we'd run into him on a cruise going wherever. Already missing our regular catch up talks. ADIOS my good friend.
