As a young boy, about 13 or 14 he came to meet and talk with my Dad, Bob Young. He was fully outfitted and brought one of his muzzleloader. He let me shoot a round and I remember the smoke billowing from the barrel. He was truly larger than life and we were enthralled listening to his tales. Dad wrote a feature about him in a newspaper called Wonderland Illustrated. I still have that copy. Bob was the kind of guy that a young boy, a young man, or a 63 year old man, like myself would always look up to. I hope Bob and Bob reunite in the streets of heaven!

From Janet Davis......when we lived in Michigan; Dad was still working as a carpenter. It was a hot, muggy summer day. It was raining. We lived on Old 27 Highway. Dad came home from work; put on his bathing suit and rode around the house on a bicycle singing at the top of his lungs! My mom standing on the back porch yelling at him to come in the house because neighbors would think he lost his mind!

I met Bob & Betty 40 years ago when I moved to AK. They immediately welcomed my family into their family. It was comforting that my children could consider them as grandparents.
You can´t mention Bob without Betty. They were a dear genuine couple that worked together & helped everyone. I adored them!
You wanted to know the God they both believed in for they were such an amazing Christian example.
Bob was a big man, not only in statue but had a big loving heart. You couldn´t help but look up to him in every way.
After I moved a couple year´s ago, I´m so glad I was able to come back and visit & spend several times with Bob.
I know it was extremely hard for him to live without Betty. Now, they are finally together & with Jesus.
My heart goes out to the family of their loss of a great man!

I remember the hulk of a man showing me his flintlock rifles and all the great stories he had to tell. I'm so glad you were able to meet your great great grand daughter before the Lord took you.
With the saints give rest, O Christ, to the souls of Thy departed servant, Robert, where there is neither sickness nor sorrow nor sighing, but life everlasting. Amen.
