My condolences to the family.
I remember Bobby from the time we were very young. We used to stop at Larko's to get ice cream when i would be visiting my aunt for the summer. It was a nice little family business and we got to know the entire family. I can still see Bobby as he was then with his cute impish smile and blonde hair. I remember thinking it was strange seeing him as a grown up in high school.
I did not know the rest of his family, but you all have my sympathy.

Dear Robert and Salena and girls,
My heart goes out to you all right now as you are missing your Dad and Grampa. I didn't know him but he certainly raised a fine son! I'm sorry that he had to leave this earth so young in his life but trust that you will have many good memories of him. Bruce and I will be praying that you are enfolded by the stong arms of our Lord Jesus during this time and on into the weeks ahead. We are very sorry that we will be out of town on Saturday and not able to come be with you then, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Much love to each of you,
Wendy Walker

My fondest childhood memories are the summers I spent with my cousin Bob at our Grandparents farm in Punxsutawney. I was sent to help my Grandmother with chores, Bob was sent to the country to be away from the bad influences of city life and his friends. I couldn't wait until Bob got there. What fun we always had. Our adventures included hitchhicking into town to buy candy or crossing the creek on a dangerous wire bridge. Both things we were told not to do. The summer he snuck up a bb gun is my most memorable experience. Aiming at both paper bullseye targets and flying birds and jumping frogs, at thirteen I became quite a marksman. Grandma and our parents never knew about this. We would play hide and seek in the sand dunes which were in the middle of a dense forest. When I found Bob he would be smoking a cigarette and laughing. Or if I couldn't find him, he would get tired waiting and yell, Bear. I would run out of the trees towards the farm, crying, and I could hear him behind me laughing. But of course the next day I was back playing games with Bob.

Bob was a good friend when we were growing up in North Bessemer. We enlisted in the Air Force around the same time and actually ran into each other while in basic training at Lackland AFB. He was a great guy and a great friend.
My deepest sympathies to his family. I am deeply saddened at his passing.
