Robert Lance Lascaro

I think of my brother everyday and on his birthday I feel sorry for him being gone remembering the life our parents made for us and it's frailty.

I was so saddened to recently hear about our cousin, Robert. I have such fond memories of him and my dad, Joe at our family celebrations. I always looked forward to seeing Robert as a young child at my grandparent´s house. (Margaret and Pasquale) Robert used to spend many hours playing games and goofing around with me. He always made me laugh! Many condolences to Lynn and rest of Robert´s family and friends!

I just found out about my cuz Robert. As a young girl, I always viewed my older brother, Joe, and Robert as mysterious, tantalizing and hilarious...may they laugh on in heaven.

Today's comment by Bob's brother Lynn couldn't be more accurate or endearing. Wonderful to read...and also to agree with!

My brother was intensely social and freewheeling in his manner and always generously sharing with others. Creativity was a driving force for him even in casual reveries like walking down the street, taking in as much as possible while adding an engaging commentary. Everyone liked him. Everyone he met including the birds in his window. He was always supportive and I miss him enormously as do all those who were in contact with him. He was a shining example of how people should be.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob in 2016. It was obvious during the course of our numerous conversations that he cared a great deal for his friends and family, mentioning once that he even cried for one who lost a toe. He was not only a capable man, but an empathetic and loving one.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Bob through his work at Greenpoint Press. He was a rare and delightful person, who created a beautiful cover for my book. I also had the joy of meeting Antonia. Their bond was wonderful to see. May Bob's joie de vivre carry on in all who had the privilege of spending time with him.

Bob was the unofficial documentarian of New York Writers Workshop. He dropped in on so many of our events, from Pitch Conferences to Red Room readings, and caught us in action from all sorts of angles. He also took an author photo I still use. We´ll miss him-he was always delightful company.

Bob was a dear friend during the years I lived in New York. We walked the High Line in summer, Central Park in winter snow. He made me laugh constantly and was so generous with his friendship, humor and affection.

Thank you, Bob, for the stunning cover you created for my Greenpoint Press memoir, and for the meticulous care you took in designing the interior of the book. And also for the long phone conversations that started out about business and wound up touching on almost every topic under the sun. I am the richer for having known you.

Bob was such a warm and affectionate friend. Here we are on the Highline in 2017.

We always enjoyed meeting up with Bob at social gatherings knowing he would entertain us with one of his many amusing stories (even if we had heard it more than once before), told with an impish smile and twinkling eyes. We will miss his wit, intelligence, warmth and sense of mischief.

Bob was my wife Gini´s dearest friend, practically her brother, who not only walked down the aisle when we married, but held her hand-and heart-throughout the 50 years they knew each other. Bob, you´re so much more than simply
"missed."

He was my "best friend in the universe" for 52 years. I still can't believe he's gone.
