Brother Bob has been in the "City of Light" for seven years now (earth time!). His eleven years as pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Indianapolis were probably the most meaningful years in my sixty-one years as a Christian. He was not only a great preacher, but led a disciplined Christian life... exercised (ran in the mini-marathon), took time for family, vacation and relaxation so he would be fresh and not get burned out. A man of God... who meant so much to so many.

Bob and I were friends for many years and grew up together in Monahans. Bob, if my memory is correct was in the MHSClass 1945. I again think he laid over to play football in 1946.
I tried to keep up with Bob all these years, but sort of lost him and his family the last couple of years.

I remember visiting him in Houston at Sharpstown Baptist Church and he showed me around the church and I was quite impressed. He came to Monahans and held a revival(can not remember the year).
Bob was a great man of God and I know he is happy where he is today, with his Lord and Savior!
Will always have fond memories of Bob, just hope there is a Golf course in Heaven, as he loved to play golf and was quite good at it. He and his brother James, will be an awesome pair.

Br. Bob was a gentle, caring pastor. We were blessed to have him pastor our church at Northside Baptist. He was a great leader on our mission trip. I learned so much from him and Becky.

I remember Bob from when we lived around the corner fom the family in Monahans. I guess I remember James, Wanda, Prissy in his family best. They were nerest my age. I remember Bob playing football and basketball for the Lobos. He was a great influence on my early life. The last time I saw Bob was in 1954. He was the Pastor of a church near College Station. We went to the morning service and he and his wife graciuosly invited us for lunch.
May God bless his family in their loss and minister to them during their period of mouring.

My uncle Ernest Hunt (& Opalmae) was the organist for Sharpstown Baptist church when it began. My cousin Vickie and I went to the summer camps as teenagers at the time. I fondly remember Bro. Bob as a serious man of the Word. My sympathies to his family - and to God be the glory for providing Bro. Bob with a wonderful home in heaven.

I remember Brother Bob when he was at Sharpstown Baptist where he baptized me. That started my personal relationship with God and His Son. He was a great preacher and an awesome human being. My prayers go out to Becky and his family at this their time of need.

Brother Latham baptised me when I was 16. I am now 62, and I still think from time to time about the Man who helped to lay down the Cornerstone of my life. If my memory serves me correctly,Sharpstown Baptist Church started in Brother Bob's Home, where he had pushed his furniture out of his living room, and the few of us there sat in metal folding chairs. We may have used different homes from time to time, my memory is a little hazy, for I was just a youngster, but I will NEVER forget what an inspiration he was. As a youngster, to me,he seemed like someone out of a movie...He had such a charismatic personality, and a belief in God so strong that you could just feel when you were around him. My Father,Herbert Bolin, was one of the fore-founders of the Church, and then a Deacon, a post that he was very proud of. He was very close to Brother Latham. He past a few months back, and I know that he was among the uncountable flock that were there to welcome Brother Bob back Home. I will always remember the man who helped teach me the fundamentals of my Faith.

Becky, Gabe and I were so blessed to have you and brother Bob and your family as our pastor family when we first came to Christ at Northside Baptist. God spoke powerfully through Bobs preaching (many Sundays I was sure bro Bob was looking right at me as he preached)and even more powerfully through the love that you both poured out on us. You are in our thoughts and prayers ----- Glen & Gabe Christie

Bro. Bob became my first pastor at Sharpstown Baptist Church when I was two years old and he remained my pastor until I was 25. The continuity of his leadership along with his strong sense of evangelism at that then young church helped create a true spiritual sanctuary for the many young families in the growing Sharpstown community. Bro. Bob's love for the Lord, his family, his church, and his community served as a beacon and an anchor for what Christian love is truly all about. His legacy will live on through the many hearts he lead to Christ through his lifetime of ministry.

I remember Robert well since at one time we lived about 1/2 block apart in Monahans. He was a fine person who set an example even then. This must be a painful loss to family and friends. My condolences to the family.

Becky and Family,
I have not had the pleasure of listening to Bob preach....but, rest assured that the Smith Family will be lifting his whole family up in prayer. I knew him in Monahans....in fact it seems that there has always been a LATHAM with us in school at M.H.S. I graduated with Wanda, One of Bob's younger sisters. Bless your hearts, &
know that He surely made a great difference from all he came in contact with during his time here!

I would not be in ministry today without the encouragement of Bro Bob. I am forever in his debt for his teaching and the example he provided for me. May God grant you all the gift of memory, Phil 1:3

My prayers and thoughts to the Latham family. Bro. Bob baptised me at Northside Baptist in Indianapolis. I always remember him saying "and of course there are none" when he asked if there were any ojections to welcoming new members to the church. He will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched with his ministry.

Bro. Bob was our Pastor at Sharpstown. He was a great man and loved the Lord, I will never forget those silver rim glasses in the early 70's when we would cut up in the service and he would call us out. Love the Latham's, our prayers for you during this time.

My family was raised at Sharpstown Baptist Church and my mother, Jimmie Gorton, was his secretary for many years. He baptized all 4 of us kids and we remember him fondly. I praise God that we were raised in that church with Dr. Latham as our preacher.

My family joined Sharpstown Baptist Church when I was 13 years old. During my teen years, Brother Bob taught me what it meant to folow Christ. In 1964, he married my husband Howard and I. Here we are 48 years later and still married. Brother Bob really knew how to perform a marriage that goes the distance!! His life on earth was filled with living for his Savior and I'm sure they are enjoying each others company even as we mourn his loss.

We love because He First loved us ~

Brother Bob was Pastor when Paula and I joined Northside. He served during my Ordination event and it was very much under his encouragement that I responded to the Call on my life. If I can have a fraction of the impact Bro. Bob had during his journey on this planet we call earth then one day I will be able to join my brother and not be ashamed. Thank you, Brother Bob, for being such a Godly example to me. I came very close to joining you yesterday. Guess Yahshua is not finished with me yet. I am very blessed by knowing you. A bright light has gone out in our world, but we have eternity together. I am so grateful Yahweh has sent Skip to Northside. The legacy continues. We love you all!!!

Becky & Family: We were so blessed by Bro. Bob and your family while at Northside. He was a true Man of God and he has all our respect. He taught us so much about just how to love folks - of all ages. That youth trip to Pennsylvania was great. He loved ministering/being with kids.
