Robert J. Legendre, 74, of Manchester, died December 26, 2003, at the Elliot Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester, February 4, 1929, he was the son of Edouard E. and Odila (Genest) Legendre. He was a lifelong resident of this city.
Mr. Legendre had worked for International Tannery for many years. He retired from General Electric Co, Hooksett, where he had worked 28 years. In his retirement he worked part time for Auto Fair.
An avid golfer, he had been a member of the Derryfield Country Club for many years. He was also a member of the Sportsmen League at Lakeside Lanes where he bowled for many years.
Mr. Legendre was a communicant of St. Anthony Church, and a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood.
Family members include his wife of 53 years, Doris E. (Hebert) Legendre of Manchester; 3 daughters, Elaine L. Koza, Ann-Marie Legendre, and Michelle "Mickey" Legendre, all of Manchester; a son, Robert J. Legendre II, of Manchester; two grandchildren, Meagan Koza, and A.J. Koza, both of Manchester; two sisters, Irene Mailhot of Manchester, and Peggy Szerlog, of Ft. Worth, Tx; nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday December 30, 2003 in St. Anthony Church. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
