Robert Link

Robert James Link, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 22, 2025. He was born in 1949 in Rockville Center to the late James and JoAnn Link.

Robert is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children, Richard (Hope) Blume, David (Allison) Link, Rene' (Jason) Blume-Meagher, Matthew (Christine) Blume, Evan (Helene) Link, and Andrew (Jennifer) Link; his brother, James (Natalie) Link; and his sister, Nancy (Eric) Link-Guidroz. One of his greatest joys was his many grandchildren: Sarah, Hannah, Hunter, Benjamin, Ryan, Caroline, Collin, Spencer, Alex, Charlie, and Ava. He is predeceased by his sister, Margaret Norton.

Robert was a people person, so starting his career as a fish salesman seemed like a natural fit. When fish shortages became an issue, Robert didn't see a problem-he saw an opportunity. Venturing into uncharted waters, he founded a company and successfully navigated the complex government permitting process to secure a 200-acre open water column lease off the eastern shore of Long Island. With sustainability in mind, he then sought to acquire permits for offshore wind turbines as an alternative to fossil fuel-burning power plants.

Robert's love language was helping and giving. He was always someone you could count on, never hesitating to assist anyone in need. He devoted his life to caring for his beloved wife, whom he affectionately called Dovey.

To his children, known as Dad or Bob, he was the kind of parent who always showed up-whether it was a late-night pickup from the movies or a friend's house. He remembered the little things, like your favorite foods, and would bring them to you whenever he could. Robert lived by a simple philosophy: to give before taking.

His love was steady and quiet, expressed through the countless acts of care he offered-whether it was being there when someone needed him most, remembering the small details that made others feel special, or simply showing up with unwavering dependability.

Services to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick, NY, at 11:00 a.m.
