It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Mitchell Mackie (Bob) on July 1, 2016, after a brief illness with cancer. Bob worked in the oil and gas industry with Suncor Inc. for 37 years. He was an avid golfer, loved hockey and will be sadly missed by the many friends he made over the years. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Trudy; his four sons, Rob (Lisa), Jeff (Lawna), Douglas, Kevin (Rosa); and granddaughter Samantha; as well as his extended family, Linda (Rod), Russell, Laverne (Kelly), Mark, Stefanie, Shelley, Jake, Allison, Carrie, Lisa, Katy, Emma, Theo, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Jean and brothers Dick and Len. Funeral Services will be held at Salvation Army, Glenmore Temple (921 – 68 Avenue S.W.) on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. OMG! I am so sorry to see Bob passed away. We worked together at Sceptre and we kept in touch over the years.There were many laughs shared. I am so sorry I never knew....Bob you will be a hit up in heaven. With a saddened heart.....

Trudy -

Trudy & family:

My dad and Bob worked together at Suncor for many years, and actually retired together on the same day in the mid 80s. I got to know Bob better after that through the Suncor retiree parties that he always organized - Christmas and summer. A fine man, a good friend, we'll miss him.
