I have had the very great pleasure of knowing and working with a number of Mr. Mainiero's family and extended family.

Each of them exhibits that kind and caring influence that good fathers so often provide.

Please accept my condolences.

The Final Salute

Brothers in Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Robert Joseph (Bob) Mainiero our Brother in Arms, Fellow Legionnaire and Voyageur Militaire. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Bob. And to Bob it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Air Force and for his many years of dedicated service to the American Legion and the 40&8 Society. Bob, you were a wonderful comrade and a strong supporter of the American Legion and Voiture 137 of the 40&8 Society. We bid you adieu and a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of all ArkLaTex Legionnaires of the American Legion and the 157 Voyageur Militaires of Voiture 137 of the 40&8 Society, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Bob's family and loved ones.
