My summers at White Lake are dominated with memories of the Manny, and the Wegner/Davis families. The fondest of times. The lake on one side and a deep woods on the other, we kids found endless ways of occupying our time. Bob and I sailed the Butterfly Nationals together when White Lake Yacht Club hosted one year, and although we did lousy we had a wonderful time in the heavy air. I remember it being hilarious for both of us nearly tipping over on every tack. I know we had more fun than anyone else out on that race course. Bob was a part of our family, my mom, Muriel making sure he was always okay. With the lengthy periods of bridge, golf and socializing the elder Manny's had going on, we often saw Bobby more than his real family did in those seemingly endless summers. Our adult lives took us in different directions at different times, but there were always "coming together" times and we picked up right where we left off. My dad, Jack adored him and loved that he and Kelly were living in the "upper cottage" two doors over when they rented from the new owners of his family cottage. Kelly kept him going and for this I will always be grateful. His gentle soul, kind spirit, and quick smile will always be with me.

I met Bob in 7th grade at RFJH. We hung out all through junior high and high school. He was truly a gentle soul - one of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met. I remember the countless weekends we would hang out at his house when his Mom and Dad were at the Whitehall house, as well as cruising around in his powder blue cougar. These are the best memories from my high school days. We lost contact after high school, but I never forgot him. My love for Southern Rock, thanks to Bob, lives on to this day. My heartfelt condolences to all of Bob's family and friends. May you rest in peace, "Super Manny".
