Robert Anthony Mantone

Robert Anthony Mantone, 79, of Fremont, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025. Born on December 1, 1945, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Ida Mantone.

Robert honorably served in the Army National Guard before pursuing a career as a skilled machinist and general contractor. His passion for construction and home remodeling was evident in his meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to his work. In 1979, Robert and his family moved to Kingston, New Hampshire, where he became a valued member of the community and raised his family. Later in life, he resided in Ossipee before retiring in Fremont.

A devoted hockey enthusiast, Robert spent several years coaching his son's Sanborn Hockey team, sharing his love for the sport with young athletes. Summers were especially meaningful to him as he enjoyed time at the family's home on Ossipee Lake. Known for his vibrant personality and love of boating, Robert created countless cherished memories with family and friends on the water. He was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Boston Bruins.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Roberta "Bobbi" (Gillis) Mantone; his daughter Trish Mantone of Exeter; and his son Michael Mantone and wife Lisa of Palm Bay, Florida. He was a proud grandfather to Ryan McDonald of Manchester, Jacob McDonald of Hillsboro, and Michael Mantone of Palm Bay. He is also survived by his brothers Johnny Mantone and wife Shirley of Exeter, New Hampshire, and Joseph Mantone Jr., whose late wife Linda predeceased him, of Woburn, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his sister Ann Milici (2018) and her husband Ronald Milici of Danvers, Massachusetts. Robert also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at St. Michael's Church, 9 Lincoln Street, Exeter, NH 03833.

Robert's legacy is one of hard work and a profound love for family and friends. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
