My sincere sympathy to the Matheson family on the passing of Mr. Matheson. Having worked in his law firm for many years I gained a great deal of respect for him and admired the things that he did. Memories of RSM (as we called him in the office) will be with me a very long time.

Dear Matheson Family,
What a beautiful celebration of life you held for your father. Mattie your lovely song from your heart was amazing. Duncan your storytelling gift is so much like your father's great gift of stories he loved to share. Robert your humor was appreciated. Susan your presence was generous like your Dad. And Scott your talk was kind and loving like the special man you have all given tribute too.
The children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren brought joy to this incredible celebration of life just like Bob himself. The great sparkle of his eyes were represented in the sparkles of those lovely Christmas tree decorations at his funeral.
A wonderful humanitarian, loving father, beloved Robert is the essence of unconditional love, acceptance, passion, laughter and a beautiful spirit that spans all planes of existence.
We thank him for making a difference in our world.
Robert will always be connected in the universe.
Blessings to you all ~ Sharon Marie & Tim Mavko (and twins)

An amazing life and an amazing man! A true citizen, Bob never complained about the things around him ... he set out to change them and succeeded. Many a time we sat around his board table and discussed how we were going to change the world! We're still working away. Thank-you Bob! Your contribution and legacy lives on.

Lynda (Mattie), Scott, Duncan, Susan, Rob and family. I had the priviledge of serving on the Edmonton Crimestoppers Board from 1984 to 1989. To Bob's beloved family,
your father inspired many of us to contibute whatever we can - to add our light to a sum of light. He was my 'Crimestoppers' mentor, and thereafter became my friend; I will miss him. He loved each of you very much, and in this I pray you'll take some comfort.

My first memories of Mr. Matheson were when we lived in the Highlands. Your mom and dad lived in the Highlands also. They didn't live far from us and I visited them often. I was about 6 yrs old. I always remember Mr. Matheson as so happy and fun to be with. I liked his laugh. Jim and I are very sad to hear of your dad's passing. May your memories ease your grief and bring you comfort during this difficult time.

Linda (Mattie), Scott, Duncan, Susan, Rob and family:
I had the good fortune of knowing your father since the fall of 1982 when we worked closely together founding the Crime Stopper Association of Edmonton and Northern Alberta. He will always be the patriarch and model of Board leadership for this wonderful crime solving community program. Bob pioneered so many Crime Stoppers initiatives locally, provincially, nationally and internationally they are too numerous to list here. What a great and wise man whose personification of integrity and commitment to public service were without peer. I grew to love Bob like a father. He will be missed but always remembered.

What a beautiful tribute to our beloved Uncle Bob/Slater. He was a humanitarian, but he was a family man above all. I will miss his warm smiling eyes which became more and more like Cutie's with each passing year. We were all so privileged to have had him in our lives as an example of how to live. Love each other.
