I served on the USS Jason (AR-8) with, then, CDR Micken. As an officer, gentleman, and XO he was great. As a person even better. My fond memories include the USS Jason crossing the equator and his becoming a Trusty Shellback, and helping the XO find a shoe shop in Pattaya Beach, Thailand! I will always have fond memories of our Navy days. Dave Pratt, NCC(SW), USN (Retired)

You'll be missed Captain! You provided the kind of leadership/friendship that I would have followed anywhere. I just got back from a trip to Oregon. An email from O.J. at West noted the passing of a great colleague and friend. Thanks for the memories!
May God Bless you and Keep You!

Leslie, Kyle and all of the family:
I am so sorry to hear of Bob's death. I just remember Bob's quiet words, and his gentle smile. I meant to be in better contact instead of having to make it so I only ran into you on base. I know that you are hurting now and I hope that soon you will be smiling when you think of him and what a wonderful man he is.
