I spent many nights in the home in Hickory HIlls. Those were some really wonderful memories, filled with lots of music. Bob was sweet and kind and a wonderful person to be around. I know Denise and Mary will miss him more than words can describe. A great man and a great father.

Robert Milne was a self-made man. His mother, Katherine, was from Ireland and his Father, Robert, was of Scottish descent. He was a Chicago native, and also spent some time in California as a young man. Having grown up during the Depression and enlisting in the navy during WWII, he knew a few things about being self-reliant, responsible, and determined. After the war Bob worked his way up the ladder for 3M national advertising and eventually became the southeastern regional manager for their outdoor advertising division. In 1966 he married Alice, whom he had known since he was a kid. He took on the responsibility of Alice's two daughters, Mary and Denise, and taught them how to be strong too. And being the first cousin of Judy Garland always gave him good stories to tell everyone. After Bob retired in 1986, he did some fishing, some traveling to Chicago with Alice, and he loved doing his daily crossword puzzles and driving around in his Lincoln Continental. He mostly loved his two grandsons, John and Kyle. They don't make men like Robert Milne anymore!

Bob, thanks again for driving Denise and me to the junior high sock hop on the coldest night of the year, all those years ago! I'm so glad Tom and I got to visit with you more recently when we were in Florida. God bless your whole family.

I can't believe you're gone. It all happened so quickly. You kept up the pace and were strong in spite of your illness, until the end. You were an amazing person in so many ways. I will always be grateful for the important lessons you taught me about life: how to work hard, be confident and honest. May you rest in peace, Bob. You will be missed tremendously. Love, Mary

Dad, you were the rock. Never wavering. or unsure of yourself. You gave a little girl the feeling of safety and protection and were always there no matter what the circumstances were. Your presence will be sorely missed. Love, Dee Dee
