I first met Bob in the grandstands of Beech Ridge Speedway as teenagers cheering on our favorite drivers. Little did we know that we would meet up again years later as members of the Maine Vinage Race Car Association and at the first Hall of Fame Banquet where my father, Phil Libby was inducted.
He was a great friend to my father and we picked up right where we left off as he encouraged me and my brothers to become active members. Bob was such a passionate historian of Maine Racing history and collected lots of pictures and memorabilia that were used in the debut of the Maine Motorsports Mobile Museum.
We never had short phone conversations because we shared many memories of the past and his vision of the future for the MVRCA . The whole Libby family had genuine respect for his dedication but most of all we will miss his friendship.

We in the racing community will miss his extensive knowledge, his smile, and his encouragement. He never let his disability get in the way of being helpful to others and was a genuine friend to me. I was always amazed how he could remain so hopeful after the countless visits to the VA. Gonna miss you, Bob.

Thinking of everyone in the Morris family. Bob was a great man, friend, and mentor. His knowledge of racing in the state of Maine was amazing, he was a human sponge with the information he would tell me about. His outlook on life was such a positive one. I will always treasure our great uncensored stories, shared laughter, and friendship. Sending you all hugs at this difficult time.

When I became active in the Maine Vintage Race Car Association, Bob welcomed me with open arms. We had a great friendship of respect and an awesome sense of humor.

Thank you to the Morris family for sharing Bob with all of us.

Bob will be greatly missed. His willingness to help so many drivers, fans and the racing community is something I will remember Bob for. When I would call him, we could talk for an hour. I loved listening to his great stories! He helped Bruce out when Bruce was on the BGNN tour by doing his press releases. Back than I would call Bob on Monday, he would type up the press release and I would swing by his house to get it and get the press release to the printers. My favorite part of the Speedway Scene was his OPServation articles. That was always where I turned to first. Thanks for all you have done for racing. You will be in great company in Heaven with your father, Bobby Walker, Tom Curley and the many racing people that have passed. R.I.P. Bob. We love you!
