When you look up the word dad in the dictionary you will find a picture of Mr.
Muir smiling back at you. He was always smiling and ready with a joke. I swear he originated the dad jokes. He was always kind, loving, and welcoming. His house became like a second home for many of Scott's and Randy's friends.
I have know Mr. Muir most of my life. I was one of those kids he welcomed into his house and his life. I met Scott in elementary school and we have been friends ever since. His dad accepted me with open arms. He was nothing but kind to me even when I didn't deserve it. You knew though to never get him mad as I learned early on he knew karate. But really from what I saw did he ever get mad? His home was a safe place. I felt the love they had for each other. It was an honor to experience that. Through the years with all the ups and downs, he was a rock. He fought through bad times with tooth and claw and a smile. He taught me alot and I'm not sure he even knew it.
I had a conversation with a mutual childhood friend a few years ago about why we could never call Mr. Muir by his first name. Mind you we were well in our forties at the time. It was a sign of respect. Admiration. And love.
Thank you Mr. Muir.

I met Bob in the Army in 1964 and living opposite sides of the country, I still think of him as one of my best friends. Bob, I´ll miss our phone chats. My sincere condolences to Maureen and the entire family.
I´ll miss you my friend.
