I was one of the many young inexperienced newlywed Ann Arbor home owners who Bob helped over the many years of his truly active servanthood. He was patient and kind in leading me to accomplish roofing, framing, plumbing jobs for which I wasn't capable. Carole would smile and likely pray for us as we worked. Bob also lectored at my wedding Mass. I have tried to emulate Bob in helping others along my way. His love for Carole was always easy to recognize. Thank God for Bob and Carole.

Bob and I had a rather unusual relationship over the past 30+ years. Unusual in the fact that we spent a lot of time hitting one another (in a boxing ring) - pretty much on a weekly basis. While working together in the real estate department at Dominos, Bob informed me that he had attended MSU on a boxing scholarship. He suggested that we do some sparring. Right! Knowing NOTHING about boxing I'm going to get into a boxing ring with an Olympic-class athlete. Of course he went easy on me teaching me the finer points of the pugilist's art over the years, as well as many other of life's lessons. Bob is among the finest human beings I have ever known and I'll miss him.

What I remember most about Bob were his friendly smile and the constant care and support he gave to Carol which I so often witnessed at daily Mass. I know too that many spoke of the ways he had helped them in a variety of ways.
I know all of you will really miss your dad and grandpa. He is a fine man and leaves you a wonderful legacy of a servant heart to emulate in your own lives. May the love and care he expressed to you in your lives be a comfort and strength as you take on his virtues. I am certain he looks upon you with great love as does your Heavenly Father. May He be your comfort and strength in this season.

Bob and Carol are saints. They loved God with all their hearts and they acted out that love with everyone they knew. They never thought much about themselves, only about the rest of us and how they could help us--materially or prayerfully. I owe them a lot for their example.

There was never a more dedicated or caring individual. Bob loved his job working with The Ann Arbor Student Building Program. He will truly be missed by all. We send our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
