So sorry for your loss, even though Bob and I had not seen each other in year, I had a fond place in my heart for him, and will miss him.

Bob we miss you. Duke and I first met you when we were moving into our first house in Balcones Woods. It was a blistering hot summer day and both of us were thinking about a cold beer. You and Gretchen came over to introduce yourselves, meet and greet the new neighbors. You offered us some iced tea which we thought would be great, not beer, but great. You came back a few minutes later with some Asti Spumante Champagne. We were so taken by both the Texas accent and hospitality that we gave up on our little project and enjoyed the next few hours with our neighbors with whom we would become the best of friends.
Over the next seven years we lived in Texas we spent many an evening talking, listening to great music and having a few, well quite a few beers. You gave us a fabulous introduction to Texas music; Jerry Jeff Walker, Hank Williams, and other legendary country music greats. You liked your music loud and full so you and Duke made those huge speakers so both of you could just turn that Marantz of yours up to its fullest. Heck you even got Hal Pickle and his wife going with that music. Ah they were good times.
Those gourmet meals prepared by you and Gretchen were fit for a king and queen. Heck even our first born child as a toddler learned the proper way to eat artichokes. Then there was the time where
you and Gretchen put up with us for a month in summer after you had already allowed us to store our stuff in your garage while on sabbatical in Hawaii.
Later when we moved away to Nevada you and some of your friends that you and Jan Thurman had gathered helped Duke start a business. Although Duke tried to get it going, he got beaten out by a Cannon/Fuji group and you said nothing but understood that's how things sometimes happen. We moved to Pennsylvania where our kids grew up. And later you welcomed back that toddler who learned to eat artichokes back into your house. Cindy who was born in Austin obtained her first full time job at DELL and you opened up your home and allowed her to stay temporarily till she found her own place.

The time we lived in Austin was very special because of you and Gretchen. Thank you so much! Our life is much richer for having known you. We will always miss you.
