Robert Mundy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 6, 2004.
Robert was born in Bedford,Indiana to Jesse Earl Mundy & Mildred Burlington Mundy. He was the youngest boy of 4 children. Robert's nickname was Bobby,he had an older brother and two sisters. He lived a tough life. His parents divorcing when he was a young boy, his father moved him and his siblings away from Indiana to Longwood,Florida. That is where I met him. He was my brothers friend. He said to my mom, "I'm gonna marry Kathy one day" I was 5 yrs old. That was 1963,during that peroid of his life, he grew up,entered the Army, left the Army due to a deaf ear. He then attended Seminole Community College. He was in the auto mechanic technical program. Many yrs later after not seeing each other we were re-introduced on a blind date. That was on Sept 4,1976. We were married June 9,1977. We had two sons, Eric E. & Adam R Mundy. Robert was supervisor for GRI a commercial roofing company in central Fla. Robert was a master craftsman. He built beautiful furniture, giving away jewelry boxes to neighbors at christmastime. Robert became ill in 1996,with a liver disorder. In 2002 we sold our home in Florida and moved to the country of Georgia, we lived there content until Robert's illness became worse. I lost Robert after only 26 years of marriage. He died of pancreatic cancer. He was my best friend,my lover and the father of my sons. I miss him very much.I sometimes wonder how I've moved on without him. He was such a huge part of my life. If I could have a do over in my life it would be to stop the cancer before it took my husbands life. I have lost so much since he passed away. I'm trying so very hard to move on. But its so hard for me. I must remain strong for my sons. If they see I'm not handling my life well they get worried and then I feel guilty for being so lost without Bob. My life has changed, sometimes I have good days other days its really tough but I still move forward. For what Bob left me was memories of our life together. Bob has left a legacy in our two sons. He has taught them if anything how precious life is and to make each day count. He will forever remain in our hearts and minds.
