Brother Bob Nagel joined our Harford county Gideon camp, transferring from the Columbia, SC camp in about 2011. He was always a joy to be around, loved the scripture verse, Rejoice in the Lord, Always Phil 4:4. I enjoyed sharing Bibles with Bob in hotels, nursing homes, high schools, and middle schools. I met his daughter Heather and another daughter at their home in Monkton, MD.
I visited with Bob there in his last days; he still had a pleasant demeanor and enjoyed talking about God's Word. The music I saw in Bob was in his heart.
I know he is rejoicing with the millions of angels around the throne of God.

Robert Nagel was an inspiration to many musically and spiritually. He was an outstanding musician and he was a wonderful testimony for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I grew up with his kids and appreciated his humorous side too. Earth's loss is Heaven's gain. A reunion awaits.

Robert Nagel had a profound influence on me as a musician. As his student, I learned so much more than just how to become a better trumpet player. He has left an incredible legacy in the history of brass music. Condolences to the entire Nagel family.

Bob Nagel was one of the finest Christian men I ever knew. We met in the Gideons, where he was a member for over 40 years. We had many great times together including handing out Bibles in Nursing homes, homeless shelters, Hospitals and Prisons. He was my mentor and became like a father to me. He always blessed me and always had a smile and an encouraging word for all. On our last conversation, he prayed a wonderful blessing over my wife and I, which humbled us. He was definitely a righteous man. Isaiah 57:1-2. He is now and forever enjoying the Lord and all the music of heaven. I look forward to seeing him again.
