Robert Nemcheck Obituary

NEMCHECK – Robert D., 78, Westmont, died Dec. 4, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center.  Born April 28, 1931, in Johnstown, son of Daniel and Anna (Molchany) Nemcheck. Preceded in death by parents; brother-in-law, Ted Vantroba; and sister-in-law, Agnes. Survived by loving wife, Romaine L. (Bellotti); children, Robert Alan, married to Carol (Charkins), Harrisburg; Ronald Milton, married to Linda (Martin), Kingwood, Texas; and Rebecca L., married to Jeffrey E. Lively, Windber; grandchildren, Dr. Jillian, wife of John Nedley; Courtney and Brooke Lively; and Robert and Christopher Nemcheck; and great-grandson, Roman.  Also survived by sisters, Eleanor Vantroba, and Louise, married to William Moudy, and brother, Donald, all of Johnstown, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Nemcheck served with the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was retired from the electrical department of Bethlehem Steel Corp., where he worked for more than 40 years.  He was an avid artist and poet. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be held 10a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, the Rev. David Peles.  Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum. Military service by VFW Post 155.
