Dear Rhonda
I cannot expressed my feelings and shock over my very good friend. He helped me as Chairman of BOS in Rockland. He was just a very good friend. Tears come to my eyes just trying to write this. I could not attend, because it hurt to much. He will be missed by all.

To my Dear Friend and Classmate, Rhonda – I send my Sincerest Condolences, from the very Depths of my Heart & Soul, to You, Kristina, Kara and the many members of the Nyman & Coulstring Families. May God Bless you all and keep you Lovingly Comforted in the Palm of His Mighty Hand – providing each one of you with Encompassing Love and Inner Strength during this time of devastation & tragedy. My Thoughts and Prayers are with You & Your Family as you grieve the loss of your Beloved Bob ...... Husband, Father, Son, Brother, In-Law, Cousin, Friend, Classmate, Politician and All Around “Great Guy”......
Bobby was definitely the Strength & the Foundation of our Hanover Class – moving on after High School to Compassionately Serve our Town, our State and our Country with his Untiring Devotion of Time, Caring & Persistence. His Political Life – which for us in the “HHS Class of 1978”, began in 1971, when he was unanimously elected as our First Class President while we were in the 6th grade – a position that he would hold 5 more times prior to our Graduation. Bobby was Literally Loved by Thousands and Thousands of People. His Gift of Kindness & Laughter will be so Sorely Missed by us All......
Much Love to You Always,
Deb "Flan"

I am so saddened by the loss of one of the best human beings ever to walk this planet. BOB NYMAN was a compassionate, caring, funny, loving, smart, dedicated man...who truly understood the human condition and has made a difference in this world. To have accomplished so much for so many in such a short amount of years. He was taken from us too soon. I can only imagine how much more he could have accomplished ... I am shocked and speechless...My prayers for him, his family, his beautiful wife Rhonda and 2 wonderful daughters, Kara and Kristy. What a beautiful dedication was done for him today, by his strong loving daughters, Kara and Kristy, and beautiful ceremony and tribute arranged by his wife Rhonda, the family, friends, church, and Bob's political Colleagues. You did a beautiful job on the ceremonies. I only pray he was watching over all of us...and knew how much he was loved by so many. * Lisa Argento Holcombe * HHS Class of '78 (Lifelong friend and classmate of Bob and Rhonda Nyman)

I am very sorry your loss. Bob did an outstanding job as our state representative. Any community event that I ever attended he was always there. Any person or business that had concerns he always listened. He was a person of action and care. I don't know if anyone can ever live up to his legacy. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

It always amazed me how a public official took the time to know and help his constituents on an individual basis. Bobby was always there to answer a question or to guide you in the right direction to get your question answered. What other public figure would take the time to scan the local papers and send a personal note of congratulations on the engagement of your children. Bobby was a dedicated politician, the real deal, and an assesst to his community. He will be deeply missed. Our sympathy goes out to the Nyman family.

Representative, Robert Nyman has touched so many families in Hanover, Norwell and Rockland over his career, that it's hard to find a deserving, great word to honor and respect what he has done for so many. On behalf of the Frattasio family of Hanover, I'll just begin my entry by saying, "thank you Bob".
Bob Nyman was a long-time family friend of the Frattasio's, similar to so many other families here. Bob's name is on almost every college resume in my family of which I'm the middle of nine. Bob's name is on at least 3 resumes of mine from my college resume to the Hanover Police.
When my father (Vincent P. Frattasio) passed 3 years ago this July, my family had a problem with a hospital in Boston, getting my fathers remains released to my family. We called Representative and friend Bob Nyman. After one phone call by Bob Nyman, the hospital emmediately released my dad's remains to my family.
There are countless stories like these, about Bob Nyman, all over Hanover, Norwell and Rockland.

On behalf of the Frattasio family of Hanover, I want to express to Rhonda, the kids and to the Nyman family, our prayers, thanks and deepest respect. We shall miss Bob very much.

My deepest sympathy in the passing of your dear husband , father and son. I am in shock! He was such a vital person and cared about everyone he met. I am on vacation in Minnesota and South Dakota and it is hard to explain how you can know a State Rep. and have him as your friend. He was my friend and I will miss his sense of humor, his caring and concern for everyone he knew and worked for. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Jean Peacock

My sincere condolences to the Nyman family. Bobby was not only a good friend to my sister, Donna (Boyle) Thibodeau, but also to my late mother, Catherine Boyle. Ma spoke often & fondly of "BobbyNyman". She was quite honored when Bobby attended and spoke at her surprise 85th birthday party. But in listening to Bobby speak praises to her, it was clear that HE was the one who was honored to be there for Ma. Thank you for sharing your wonderful husband & father. He accomplished much in his short lifetime. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Rhonda, Kristy and Kara....
Words can never express the sadness that we feel when loosing a loved one so unexpectedly. Ours thoughts and prayers are with you and your extended family. We first met Bobby when he was in high school. When he ran for school committee my son Scott was proud to be asked to hold a sign for Bobby around the High school. My son was about 9 at the time. After that we became good friends. We moved out of Hanover in 2000 and now live in Weymouth, but always seem to see Bobby here and there and kept track of him at the Sate House. He will be deeply missed by all. If there is anything that we can do please let us know.

To Rhonda, Mrs. N., Kristi and Kara we offer our deepest, heartfelt sympathies. We mourn with you as our hearts ache too.

As Hanover Day was getting underway, the unimaginable was reverberating from every corner of town, absolute shock, sadness and disbelief . To say Bob will be missed, is a huge understatement. What a champion! Regardless of your party affiliation we were one in Bob’s eyes. He was the epitome of “community”. Like Hanover’s very own “Waldo”, Bob was everywhere, if not a town meeting, charity event, parade or observance it was a dedication, graduation, or celebration of any kind, of course there you’d find Bob. He was a great role model and one surely difficult to emulate.

He was generous to a fault of his time, effort and energy. He gave every ounce of himself without looking for recognition for all the positives he secured for the betterment of this-his beloved community. The town has suffered an enormous loss, his shoes impossible to fill. Bob was a genuinely kind, caring, special individual who made you feel important, always offering a smile, a hug or hand-shake. The Nyman/Coulstring families have so much to be proud of!
We have lost one of Hanover’s favorite sons.
Rest in Peace, Bob!

Rhonda, Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your most tragic loss. I can't even imagine your heartache. It's pretty clear to see what type of man the boy grew up to be. Bob will be missed by his family and friends in Hanover. I (Judy) had the pleasure of working at Town Hall when Bob was a Selectman. He was helpful to us in many ways. If Ken & I had need to visit McDonald's Funeral Homes in Weymouth, Bob was there to speak with us and always asked about our families. But then he was often sought out to MC (for his humor) special occasions.
We will remember Bob fondly and with respect. We hold you all in our prayers.

I was an intern for Rep. Nyman the first two summers of his tenure in the State House. Although I'd had other internships, I learned more working for him than anywhere before, mostly from his example. He truly cared about his constituents, and I could see the compassion in his eyes when he talked about helping someone. He was one of the most thoughtful, kind politicians I've ever met, and many of the lessons I learned from him still serve me today. For him, all politics were local, and he treated everyone equally and with respect. I also remember how his eyes would light up when he talked about his wife and daughters. I have been praying for the family, and offer my sincere condolences.

We were in the emergency room and witnessed a large group there for someone important in their life. We arrived just as a priest scurried in and we noticed the Hanover police car stayed from nine to two when we were discharged. We knew it was very serious and we said prayers hoping it was serious yet not fatal. We thought to ourselves that the police may have been there for a statement or perhaps it may have been a car accident and the person being treated may have also been facing some legal charges; we just never imagined a tragedy like this. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. From all I've read; he was wonderful and left his beautiful family. I wanted to let you know that although we never spoke; people feel your pain and cared. I do hope that the many people Bob shared his life with will still be supportive to all of you and may his girls always know he was their dad and all that meant to them. May you find peace to fullfill your own lives the way he lived his to the fullest, collecting freindships. May you continue to have many blessings in your lives, knowing he is forever living in your hearts.

I was in Jr. High with Bobby and moved away a long time ago. I recently re-connected with Liz MacDonald Mahoney who just informed me of his passing - my deepest sympathy to his family. I think Bobby beat me in the 7th or 8th grade election for class president and I knew the better candidate had won. He was a great guy then and sounds like he got even better and more successful in his adult life. I wish I had re-connected with him too.

My sympathy to the Nyman family. Bob has always been a wonderful friend to my family and holds a special place in my heart for delivering a wonderful eulogy to my mother at her funeral. Although that day, I missed much of what he said due to my own grief, he was thoughtful enough to send his speech to me....and I have been able to take comfort in his words ever since. He will be missed.

I went to school with Bobby Nyman since Grammar school through High School. As, far back as I can remember he wanted to serve the people. He became our class president in 6th grade and continued through until our graduation in 1978. I respected Bob for dedication to the people he served and am proud that he continued to serve the people throughtout his life. I am saddened by the loss and my condolences to the Nyman/Coulstring families.

Bobby was such a great person in so many ways...he had a wonderful way of making you feel special when you were in his presence. He could work a room and never miss a beat. I had the fortitude to see Bobby on June 6,2010 at my sisters home Hannah Coffey where he came over as a special favor to congratulate my niece Sarah Coffey on her graduation from Hanover High School and also did a great unexpected tribute to my father the late Dr. Donald Coffey which brought me to tears. He then went into an award ceremony for local vets home from the war....as always Bobby made everyone in the room stand at attention as we all sang the Pledge of Allegiance...it was awesome and so was Bobby ...

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Nyman Family. It is a great loss to our towns. We thank him for always taking the time to remember us at Mother's Day with the violet plants. That was special.
May we all do one kind deed in his memory.

Bobby was one of the most genuine people I have ever known. When he shook your hand and looked you in the eye and asked you how your parents were doing, how your siblings were doing, how your children were doing, it wasn’t a formality. He listened intently to your response. He had a genuine care and concern and interest in all people and their well being. Being in public life, he had an obligation to be present at many events and gatherings, but nothing was ever an obligation to Bob. He was always there first as a person and as a friend who truly wanted to lend his support. Bob had a great rapor with everyone. From toddlers to the elderly, he would sincerely engage all in honest conversation. He helped so many people in so many ways over the years. This is such a great loss to the community. May his heartfelt deeds and kind spirit live on in the rest of us who were blessed to have known him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rhonda, Kristina, and Kara. Bob’s love lives on in you, in your hearts, in your minds, and in your souls. May God bless you and bring you some peace and comfort.
Sincerely,

As a Public Servant Bob was committed. As a man Bob was honorable, kind and compassionate. As a life-long friend to this family, Bob is irreplaceable. Our love and prayers are with their whole family.

So sorry to hear the news. I have fond memories of being on Student Council with Bobby in Junior High. His political career began early! He was a caring, thoughtful guy and a friend to everyone in High School . I have followed his political career and was always so proud of how he represented Hanover. My sympathies to his family.

To Rhonda, Kristy, Kara, Christine and the extended Nyman family:
Our deepest sympathy and condolences for the loss of a truly great man. He will be missed by many, but none more than you.
Bob recently attended Sarah's graduation party to affirm Hanover Honoring Hero's and present a homecoming citation to Danny Rockett, just home from Iraq. His words of encouragement for Sarah, and honor for Danny were from the heart. As were his words of praise in remembering my late father, Dr. Coffey.
Bob touched many lives and I will always remember, with gratitude, the way he touched the lives of the Coffey family.
