I cant believe its been almost 10 years since Ozzy left us..i thought of another post HS story about Bob. The year was 1979 and Bob was inturning as a butcher at Morris and Christies in Uptown. I lived 6 blocks from store and Bob’s meat dept had better selection than Lunds. I was trying to impress my roomates by making lasagnia with veal and riccota cheese. Short story, Bob helped me. During process he pressed his thumb (hard) on scale. My eyes popped at cost of veal. Gave Bob good laugh at my expense. It turns out he gave me a rediculous good deal. The meal was sensational and every time I eat or make lasagnia I think of Bob.such a sweet person.

Dear Osborne Family,
I'm so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I knew Bob at St. Louis Park High and always enjoyed his company. Five years ago when My younger brother died, Bob was one of my few old high school classmates who called. I was very touched. I first met Bob our Jr. Year in oceanography. He had a great sence of humor and good timing with a joke. He was also shy & quiet. I recall Bob was a new student (hence the shy part) tried out for Varsity baseball team and made it! My most memorable story was during batting practice. It was cold Spring afternoon (snow on ground) and first outdoor practice. It was Bob's turn to bat. He was a skinny kid and no one expected much the new kid. In fact, one player in particular was teasing Bob as he got up to bat. The HS building was 400 ft from home plate & everyone bragged About hitting it (no one had enough power). Bob's first swing hit the school. It was a line shot....the ball came off his bat so fast it looked like a lazerbeam sailing in the air. It truely was amazing! Everyone's jaw dropped including mine.... The teasing stopped and then on the second pitch he did it again! Hollywood could not have scripped it any better....It was a wonderful & humbling teaching moment for all of us. Bob was still smiling in class the next day!!! Here is my cell 612-636-0810 in case you feel like talking. God bless you all. I'll miss Bob.
