Robert Lowell Ottman

August 21, 1938 - March 23, 2021

Robert Lowell Ottman, age 82, entered into rest on March 23, 2021, at his home in Prosser, WA.

He was born on August 21, 1938, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Robert and June (Harvey) Ottman, the youngest of eight children. He graduated from Fruita High School in the Grand Valley where he grew up and married Bettie Seay in 1960. Bob and Bettie had two children, Vanesa Blasdel and husband, John, of Paterson, Washington, and Byron Ottman and wife, Jo, of Edgewood, Texas.

Bob played semiprofessional baseball after high school and one semester of college. He spent four years in the US Air Force in Florida and Missouri where he played baseball and basketball for the Air Force. When he returned to Grand Junction, he had a long career as an office products salesman and eventually he owned and operated his own store, Office Products, selling office machines, furniture, and supplies.

After moving to Texas to be near Bettie's parents, he started his career in specialty advertising promotional products which he turned into his own business, B & B Advertising, for the last 30 years and was still working until his death on March 23, 2021.

Bob and Bettie were longtime Presbyterians and after moving to Prosser in 2018 became members of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Along with his wife and children Bob is survived by his sister, Roberta McDaniel, of Parachute, Colorado; brothers, Leland Ottman, of Palisade, Colorado, and John Ottman, of Twin Falls, Idaho; grandchildren, Megan (Jordan) Hancock; Jeremy Blasdel and fiance, Denae Merkel, and Jennifer (Jason) Smith; great-grandchildren, Katrina Chaney, Baxter Chaney, Sara Chaney, Jaedyn Smith, and Julian Smith, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard, Pat, and Nick, and sister, Martha.

Memorial services were held at the Covenant Presbyterian Church on April 1.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Prosser Covenant Presbyterian Church for One Great Hour of Sharing focusing on hunger, disaster and development.
