Robert Owens Obituary
He was born on June 25, 1971, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Robert and Jerrie Owens. He was a lifelong resident of Nacogdoches, Texas, and graduated from Nacogdoches High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. He married Jennifer Leigh Raines on July 17, 1999. They were joyfully married for 15 years. They had two sons, Payton Hunter Owens and Ashton Arthur Owens. Their children continue to bring them joy every day.
If you knew nothing else about Kirk Owens, you knew how much he adored his wife and children, and they him. They were his life and he purposely made his life revolve around them. Kirk knew and loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was an avid boxing fan, an enthusiastic soccer coach for his oldest son, Payton, and loved hunting and going deep sea fishing with his buddies. One of Kirk's God-given gifts was his innate sense of humor and ability to make people laugh. Anyone who met Kirk walked away with a smile on their face. Kirk was instantly friends with everyone he met.
Kirk was a successful pharmaceutical representative, finishing #4 in the nation for his company last year. He was competitive, smart and clever. His doctors were not just his clients, they were also his friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Owens, Jr., of Nacogdoches, TX, his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Kuykendall, of Mason, TX, and a cousin, William Hunter Owens, of Midland, TX.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Nacogdoches, TX, their two sons, Payton and Ashton, of Nacogdoches, TX, his parents, Robert and Jerrie Owens, of Mason, TX, brother, Lee Owens and wife, Rainey, of Dallas, TX, parents-in-law Jack and Becky Raines, of Nacogdoches, TX, sister-in-law, Angela Jackson and husband Fred, of Dallas, TX, nephews, Jordan Pierce and Sam Jackson, niece, Ansley Owens, uncle, Greg Owens and his wife, Liz, cousin, Emily Owens, aunts, Robbie Alkek and Merle Cattan, uncle, Wayne Kuykendall and wife, Janine, and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers are Mike Burford, Bryan Davis, Jayson Dilworth, Todd Fry, Jed Hagood, Brent Rice, Toby Stanaland, Neal Sutton, Jon Weems, and David Yeagy. Honorary pallbearer is Courtney Allen.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, from noon until service time at Fredonia Hill Baptist Church, Nacogdoches, TX. Celebration of Life will begin at 2 p.m., following visitation, with Wayne Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, in Nacogdoches, TX.

I'm sitting here in disbelief...I found out Monday October 20th that Kirk had passed away. I feel like I have lost my little brother. I will always remember his positive attitude, his sense of humor. He made my days with Bristol Myers such fun. He was a great partner! If I'm rememberering correctly I do believe our team won a sales contest and we earned a 10,000 bonus! We talked every so often after my days with Bristol and it was always like I had talked to him the day before. Jennifer there wasn't a time that we talked, that he didn't speak of you and the boys. He was a devoted husband and father and I am proud to of had him as a friend. He will be missed! I will keep your family in our prayers.

It is still hard for me to wrap my brain around what has happened. Kirk was definitely one of the sweetest, most caring men I've met that would do anything for anyone. From telling me to come drive his truck when I wanted, to our jam sessions when I came to babysit the boys and to offering me a room upstairs when I needed to get away, he became very close to me and somewhat like another dad. He always had to make sure that the guy I was dating at the time was treating me right and I was taken care of, and I am very sad that he didn't get to meet the man I am now going to marry. I always enjoyed hanging around the Owens' house when he was there. Mrs. Jennifer, with the way I felt when I found out I can't imagine what you and the boys are going through. I pray for your strength and healing every day as well as the boys. I love y'all and Kirk so much! He will be greatly, greatly missed!

For years now, Kirk has kept me sane as my Houston North Allergan partner. He was just so much fun, and an all around good guy. I can't remember a single conversation when he didn't mention his wife or the kids, or both...because that's just who he was. He openly shared his faith and I am comforted, as I am sure his family is, knowing that he is with our Lord. I will miss him terribly.

I worked with Kirk. He was such a great "cheerleader" of what I did at my job & my time with Allergan. He had such integrity and really lead by example. He was warm & humorous.
