Bob was a wonderful man and Betty so special. I met them when they were searching real estate options in downtown Chicago. We spent many months looking and Betty and I would have coffee to discuss options, details, and ideas. I met Bob at their home in Northbrook and I made numerous spreadsheets to accurately show him the good investment options. I'm so saddened to read this but so thankful today I did.
Betty, if you read this know how precious you both were to me. A single Mom who knew property management and real estate. Still live in Western Nebraska. God Bless you, your kids, and grandkids!

I did not know Bob well but my impression was he was a gracious and kind man. He always made a point of greeting a person and sharing a smile and some kind words. I liked him and greatly respected him as a wonderful husband and father and successful business man. Both Betty and Bob have always been there for others offering kindnesses and giving their time to those in need. He is definitely missed and remembered by me as a wonderful man.

So shocked and so sad to hear of Bob Parkinson`s passing. He was the best Boss and friend during my last years with Baxter in Germany and Europe as Director GAPP from 2004 to 2011. I admired his great leadership, sincere and down to earth personality: the best for people and patients.
my prayers and thoughts are with his wife Elizabeth, his children and grand children. Even far away in Europe I will miss him.

Bob Parkinson was a man like no other. He was kind and humble, funny and loving to all those around him but especially his family who he adored beyond measure. He loved to water all his plants when he was in his Naples home taking great care to not miss any enjoying the warm, salty air and sound of the ocean. He made everyone feel important and understood no matter what your status in life. Bob Parkinson was a titan in his field surpassing all others and leading a new generation into into an ever changing dynamic business , always guiding with his core values of truth, kindness and generosity.

I met Bob/Rob in Homeroom, freshman year at Alleman HS. We were in many classes together and friends. His intelligence, charm and wit were contagious. A definite class act and he has left this world far too soon. My sincere condolences to Connie and all his siblings; Betty and their children and grand children left to treasure his memory. My heart sunk and for you when I read the news

Dear Parkinson family, it is with a heavy heart that I write this condolence. Although not close geographically, we were close in spirit. Cousin Rob lit up a room with his enthusiasm and zest for life. He was extremely warm yet you knew his mind was always thinking of the next endeavor or project. He was a quintessential executive, father, grandfather, husband, and son. His dear mother was our Aunt Rita. She and Uncle Bob raised him with a strong work ethic and passion for life. I don't know a more giving and magnanimous human being. Our family always smiled upon hearing the challenges of farm life. It cut many a holiday celebration short due to a waiting farm task to complete. My in laws, John and Ginny were never overlooked in his kindness to the older generation. May God bless his wonderful family as he welcomes Rob into eternal life. Godspeed and Rest In Peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. And it is a loss shared by so many in Chicago's business and charitable community. Bob's generous spirit will always be remembered -- especially at Junior Achievement. And my gift to JA this year will be in his memory. He left us way too soon.

Dear Mrs. Parkinson and family: I am so sorry for your loss. I had so much respect for Bob, he was the best leader and always showed such concern for our patients that used our products from Baxter. I met Bob for the first time on a phone call. I thought it was one of my friends playing a joke on me and I hung up on him!!! He called back, very gracious and said Glennie, this is really Bob, don't hang up! After that I had numerous occasions to work with him, providing him with clinical information, customer consults, etc. He always was so appreciative of my help and In turn shared such great advice for me on my career at Baxter. The first time I met him in person I was so nervous my hands were shaking, but he treated me like I was an old friend. While on the one hand he showed great strength to those of us he led, he never used his position of power to make anyone feel less than him. A true leader and a gentleman. You and your family remain in my thoughts and prayers. My Deepest Sympathy.
