Robert Pasley Obituary
Robert G. Pasley, 92, died Friday, Nov. 16, at the Green Hills Care Center in Ames. A celebration of life reception will be held at a future date at Green Hills Retirement Community.
Robert G. Pasley was born May 17, 1913, in Ames, the son of C.H. and Ethel J. Pasley. He graduated from high school in Ames and from the University of Iowa, receiving both a bachelor of arts degree and a juris doctor degree. He married Mary Elizabeth Abbott June 17, 1939, in Boone. He began the practice of law in Ames in 1939, ultimately retiring in 1980. He served as Ames city attorney and was elected to the Ames City Council. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Pasley, of Ames; three sons, Clarke (Jonette), of Ames, Robert (Nancy) of Grand Forks, N.D., and Richard (Pamela) of Dexter; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
