Robert F. Pereira

Dr. Robert (Bob) F. Pereira, 84, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 surrounded by his family who loved him.

Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan. When he was 15, his family moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida. He attended Cocoa High, playing football for the Cocoa Tigers. He loved his football and he loved his new home. He would talk about how he saw panthers and wild boar in Cape Canaveral, "no man's land", how he raced the crop duster plane on 520, and how different the area was then.

After Bob graduated from Cocoa High in 1952, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Korea during wartime. After his tour, he returned home to Cocoa, where he worked for the US Postal Service, delivering mail on a bicycle. Later, he decided to move his family to Davenport, Iowa to attend Chiropractic college. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1968 and retired in 1998 after 30 years of practice in Cocoa Beach.

He loved riding his Goldwing motorcycle with his motor cycle chapter, where he had many friends and how he met the love of his life, Edna. Bob and Edna were married in 1991 and had 27 wonderful years together.

Bob will be greatly missed by Edna; his son Bob Pereira, Jr. (Lisa); daughter Eileen Gonzalez (Angel); step-son Jeff (Renee); step-daughter Regina (Jason); grandchildren Orion, Christian, Ryan, Brittany, Alex, Brandon, and Brooke; and two great-granddaughters, Kasandra and Khloe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Newell and Adele; brother, David; and his step-daughter, Jacki.

Everyone who knew him was fortunate to have had him in their lives. He was always so positive and a big kidder. He loved his family very much and they loved him. There was no one quite like "Grandpa" and "Papa Bob" and he will remain in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 S. US Hwy. 1, Rockledge, FL, with a service following from 2:00 p.m.
