Age 86, of Fox Chapel, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Mollie Peters; loving father of Thomas C. (Ellen) Peters of Aspinwall, Patricia P. (Marshall) Austin of Fox Chapel and Robert B. (Sohayla) Peters of Santa Clara,CA; cherished grandfather of Rachel Peters, Jennifer B. Williams, Jason (Katie) Williams, Marshall T. (Franci) Austin and the late Christopher Peters; brother of Dorothy Kleiber and the late Donald Peters. Robert was born in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Marquette University as a Civil Engineer, moved to Pittsburgh in 1951 and retired as Chairman of the Board of Mellon-Stuart Co., a large Pittsburgh general contractor. He was a member of the Fox Chapel Golf Club and Rolling Rock Club. He served as President of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Pennsylvania. Robert was a proud Veteran having served with the Army during World War II. No visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, July 10th at 10am in St.Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Ave., Aspinwall. Interment private. Funeral arrangements by WEDDELL - AJAK FUNERAL HOME, Aspinwall. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to the Boys and Girls Club of Western PA, 5432 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201 or to the Marquette University High School Scholarship Fund in memory of Robert N. Peters, 3401 W. Wisconsin Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53208.

Sorry for your loss. Today, I was talking with another past Mellon Stuart co-worker and we spoke of Bob Peters. I searched for his name on the internet and sadly found his obituary. I worked with MS Co for 20 years, starting in the Atlanta, GA office in 1976 then I moved to the Orlando, FL office. I also worked in the Fairmont WV office for about 9 months. I enjoyed working with Bob when he would come to the Atlanta and Orlando offices. I also made many trips to the Pittsburgh office. Bob was a first-class person and I am thankful that I had the pleasure of knowing him. All my love and prayers, Collier Mullins, Longwood, Florida (1-5-2011)

Our prayers and condolescences go out to the Peters family. Bob Peters gave me an opportunity in the construction industry at Mellon Stuart. I made the most of the opportunity and retired as a Senior Superintendent. I continue to help others as the Peter brothers helped me. Their contributions will never be forgotten and will be forever noted.

Dear Tom and Patti:

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your wonderful Father. I had the priviledge while at Mellon Stuart to serve as his admninistrative assistant; what a wonderful experience. Bob was so very kind and giving to everyone. He was a remarkable human being and I so much enjoyed working for him.

I will always remember his contagious laugh as he adorned the hallways of this memorable company. He will be missed but is now in a better place. Please accept my very deepest sympathy.
