Robert Petrillo

Robert "Bob" Anthony Petrillo, 61, of Lanesboro, died on Tuesday, July 30, 2014, in a motorcycle accident near Lanesboro. 

Bob was born July 22, 1953, in Chicago, Ill., to Caesar and Delores (Kimbrell) Petrillo. He attended schools in Winnetka, graduating from New Trier High School in 1972. He attended the Indiana Institute of Technology in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and St. Mary's University of Minnesota.  

Bob worked for IBM in Rochester as an advisory programmer/engineer. He enjoyed playing music, riding his motorcycle, and was very active in the community. He was a deacon at St. Patrick's, and volunteered as a sound technician for the Lanesboro Community Theater.

Bob is remembered by four children, James (Jen) Petrillo of La Crosse, Wis., Angela (Shannon) Bengford of St. Louis, Mo., Andrea Driskell of Bangor, Wis., and Gwendolyn Petrillo of Fountain, and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara (Ernie) Brandt and Katie Petrillo, both of Northbrook, Ill. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.  

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lanesboro with Fr. Patrick Arens officiating.

A visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 1, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and continue one hour prior to the funeral Mass. A prayer service will take place at 6:45 p.m. on Friday also at the church. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Lanesboro. 

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
