Robert Pitak Obituary
Bob was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving for 4 years as a Combat Engineer in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. In 1985, after severe leg injury, he retired from the Carpenters Shop at Bethlehem Steel. Bob attended Lackawanna High School in the late 1950's and was a faithful worshipper at Our Lady of Victory in Buffalo, NY.
He is survived by his loving wife Diane Pitak (Connolly) of 49 years, his 3 daughters Stacie (Brendan) Farrell, Sheree (Sean) McDonnell, and Sandi (Shawn) Crawford, as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Walter and John, and his mother Caroline.
Bob enjoyed motorcycle riding, spending time with his family, and making others laugh with his countless, "Bobisms." A private church service will be held for the family, with a celebration of life scheduled at his home on May 11, 2024, at 3pm. Food and refreshments will be provided at the celebration.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.myeloma.org supporting the Multiple Myeloma foundation for cancer research.

My condolences to Diane and the rest of the family. It sounds like Bobby had a loving family and many blessings in his life with them. I am grateful that we were in each other‘s lives for a little while.
Bobby was truly a kind and generous soul.

Picking up the grandchildren from school. I knew the first time I met him that I would love him. The Angels are lucky they´re getting a rockstar. He always made Mrs. Chambers and I laugh. I will always remember the love he shared and gave his family. They don´t make men like Bob anymore Tyler, Sean, and Olivia I know it hurts so bad right now. I can´t tell you it´s gonna go away. You just learn how to live with it. You are all grown up now, your mom and grandma need you more than ever right now. I´ll see you at the service.
