Robert Price Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 14 to Mar. 19, 2023.
It is with much sadness and heavy hearts that we share that our father, Robert George Price, passed away peacefully and painlessly while in the company of his daughter, Krista, at their 2nd home in Spring Lake, New Jersey on the evening of March 10th, 2023. He is survived by his daughters, Krista Price of Ossining, New York, Kathleen Price-Ancona (husband William) in Toms River, New Jersey, and sons, Kyle O. Price (wife Elizabeth) in Vero Beach, Florida, Michael Price-Brown (husband Clayton) in El Sobrante, California, ex-wife Cassie Richardson of El Sobrante, California, sister Louise Brown (husband Richard) of Walton, New York, brother Donald (wife Lucille) of Wappingers Falls, New York, sister-in-law Sherri Price, and grandchildren Elizabeth Snook (husband Kyle) of Summit, New Jersey, Katharine Rutherford (husband Robert) of Dallas, Texas, and Kyle W. Price serving in the U.S Air Force in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends that he loved very much. He is predeceased by his brothers, Keith, William and James and his parents, Erwin and Charlotte.

Robert was born and raised in Walton, New York to Erwin and Charlotte Price on October 8, 1936. He spent his high school years working weekends and summers on a farm where he learned many valuable skills that he later shared with his family. He worked at IBM in Kingston and Poughkeepsie, New York from 1956 to 1991 and raised a family of four children with his wife, Cassie after their marriage in 1957. After retiring in 1991, he spent time traveling, umpiring softball games, working annually at the Dutchess County Fair and Clearwater events, attending baseball games in a variety of cities and most importantly, spending time with his close friends and family. He maintained lifelong friendships that he treasured with John and Joanne Famelette, Herb Buchanon, Wayne Cristofel, and Margaret (Peg) Quick. One of his greatest and proudest moments recently was meeting his great-granddaughter, Emma and her mother, Elizabeth, his grandson Kyle, and his son Kyle.

Our dad was known as a patient, quiet, thoughtful, fun-loving person that could solve many problems while offering a dry sense of humor. One of his favorite sayings over the years was, "the bus is leaving." His wife and children knew to immediately get in the car or we would be left behind. It is with great sorrow that we find that Bob quietly got on the bus and left us behind but we are grateful he lived a long, happy life that gives us great comfort for all the quality time we were able to spend with him.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, you make a donation to the charitable organization of your choice. In accordance with his wishes, he will be laid to rest in his hometown of Walton at a future date.

It is hard to choose from so many great memories I have of my 40 year friendship with Bob. We played racquetball, Golf, and went on many one day road trips to nowhere. We joined John Famelette“s stage left crew and did dozens of venues and events all over Ulster and Dutchess County. We even went skiing one time but Bob said his arms were too short to do that again! (getting up in deep snow can be difficult). During all of this we had one hell of a good time together... it was always fun. I am so thankful for this friendship and the memories which I will always have.
