Robert Dale Ramirez, 53, of Athens passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. "The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning," Lamentations 3:22-23. Robert was a faithful member of Hillcrest Church of God. He loved the Lord and found joy in serving in different areas of ministry. If the church doors were open, Robert was there. His hallmarks were faithfulness and loyalty. He served quietly behind the sound booth and not so quietly in the drum booth. He was a self-taught drummer whose inspiration came from some of his favorite bands. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. Robert had many unique ways to show he cared for people. He mostly liked to joke and pick on people and was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Robert was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jesus "Jessie" Gesolgon. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth "Jean" Templeton; father, Joel Ramirez; sister, Tina Ramirez; nephew, Brant (Sasha) Ramirez; niece, Heather Gesolgon; niece, Alyssa Gesolgon; great-niece, Leia Rose Deason; aunt, Lequita (Sam) Stansberry; and several beloved cousins and wonderful friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Hillcrest Church of God worship ministry. Donations can be made online at myhillcrest.church/give or mailed to: Hillcrest Church of God, 581 Hillcrest Circle, Etowah, TN 37331. Share a personal memory of Robert or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com Companion Funeral Home of Athens is honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
