My first memory of Robert was in high school at Samuel Clemens. We shared many fun times together with our classmates. We all went to the prom together with our dates...pictures taken at my parent's house. Fond memories of me staying the night with his sister at their house and Robert would dance for us. He also danced at the talent shows at Clemens. Going out after basketball games. So many great memories of this very special friend. RIP Robert (Bobby).

I met Robert when I was a kid & then met him again 20 yrs ago in Spring, Tx. Then of all places to run into him again- Ranged Jr College.
Robert, you were always kind to me & made me laugh. I have a photo from Jim´s & my wedding reception of you dancing with me & every time I look at it I grin from ear to ear. You are dearly missed.

The first time we meet was 1992, I had no idea who he was, or the rockets, let alone that they just won world championship......he couldn't believe I didn't know who robert reid was. I said I don't like basketball I like football. We became instant friends not because he was Robert Reid, but because I didn't , I got to know him as the wonderful funny caring proud man that just so happened to be Robert Reid a world famous star athlete, till the day he died

I did not know him personally, but you could tell he had that small town atmosphere in him. i invited him to ride in a parade in Winnie Texas for the Texas Rice Festival. He came and really enjoyed himself while walking around as if he was just a normal person, but he was just a geniune person at heart. I will never forget this, and pray that he is resting in peace

Me and my Wife were very Blessed and Honored to have met Robert Reid and Diane at several Entertainment Events and Eating Establishments. When we first met Robert and Diane, he treated us as he had known us for years. He had a wonderful Smile and Personality that we will never forget. The second time we met, he gave us a Autograph Picture that he signed in front of us. He was a Great Man that will be truly missed. May he Rest In Peace and our Condolences to his Family. Thank you my Friend for the memories we will never forget. God Bless you and your family. We Love you

I worked at the Dean of Students office at St. Mary´s University. As a freshman the basketball players were so tall. Robert walked in and just started talking. I was in awe but he made me laugh. I was proud to call him a friend.
My brothers saw him at a Rockets game. They talked to Bobby and asked him if he remembered me. He said he did. I wonder. My name is Gloria Rodriguez from Crystal City.
I really admire Bobby.

Condolences to the Reid family. Robert was my freshmen orientation leader at St. Mary's University, San Antonio, TX. He was generous with his positive remarks. I ran into him in Houston, twice...at a restaurant and near the courthouse. I would remind him about St. Mary's University and the Rattlers and he would politely smile and laugh. He holds a special place in my heart and memories.

I remember my one-on-one challenge with Robert at San Felipe Park in Houston, TX. He was just coming out of St. Mary's College. I appreciated his continuous connection with me and the fellows, not to mention the support to the community.
RIP my brother.

We spoke every week or so for over four decades and you never changed Bobby Joe always displaying that genuinely kind, caring, thoughtful, and giving to others heart of yours, God does not make mistakes and he put you on this earth for a specific reason and being an elite athlete was just one of the gifts he bestowed upon you but not the main reason, what he blessed you with was far more important and that was the ability to make a real and lasting difference in other people's lives especially with kids, your smile would always light up any room, your eyes always showed you cared, your wonderful personality was the magnet that drew everyone in and your heart was just filled with love, Bobby, the difference you were placed here to make is a done deal my friend you took good care of people and made that difference, now you are walking with the Lord and he will take good care of you just like you have done with so many for so long, Love you Bobby!
