Sorry to hear of General Bob's passing, My father, Vice Admiral Alan Collins, had great affection for Bob and our parents saw a lot of each other between Thetis Island and Victoria. Bon was instrumental in an offer for me to transfer from the Reserve to the Regular Force, which I declined, but I was always grateful for his support. Condolences to the family. David Collins

Please accept my most sincere condolences. I too know how hard it can be losing one's parents. I hope it brings some comfort that both your parents must have been very proud of their children and grandchildren.

Your father was a much respected member of our writing group in Kingston Ontario. We knew him as a gentleman with a high level of integrity, a sense of humour and a kind heart. He is missed and will be remembered. Sincere condolences.

I first met Bob at the RCOC School after he returned from Korea and he came to chat with me when I was on sentry duty in the rain as an OCdt on an exercise. We established a long friendship over our years in the Army and I share your grief in this loss. Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense.

To the Ringma family our deepest sympathies on the loss of your dear father. I first met your Dad through my friendship with Kathie, later then at her wedding to Mike Davies and many years through our kindred spirits with the GGFG! I knew your father through my work at DND when he was Chief of Financial Services at NDHQ under ADM(FinCS). Later again as the Log Branch advisor yet always thought of him as Kathie's 's a Dad! He was in Rivers where I was born too! Another commonality! I am so sorry. I know how it feels having lost my Mum last June and my Dad 7 years ago. With both parents gone you feel fathomless like an orphan. I wish you peace and treasure your many good memories! Be strong for the next few weeks will be tough!
