Robert Risley

Robert I. Risley, a dedicated family man and accomplished professional, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, in Fairhope, Alabama where he had resided for the past four years. Born on January 21, 1934, Robert lived a life marked by service, education, and love for his family.

Robert was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa until proudly serving in the United States Air Force for two years. Robert attended Davenport Central High School and was a student/athlete where he was part of the state champion basketball team. Upon leaving the service, he attended the University of Iowa where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Prior to living in Fairhope, Robert lived for over 30 years in the Atlanta Georgia area where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as enjoying his passion for playing golf.

Robert is survived by his loving family, including Steven, Micheal, Patrick, Terry, Linda, and Nanci who will forever cherish his memory. He was a loving father to his six children, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty O. Risley, also from Davenport, Iowa with whom he shared many cherished years.

Robert will be laid to rest during a private family service at Georgia National Cemetery, where his family will gather to honor his memory and celebrate his life.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew him.
