Robert (“RJ”) Justice Jordan

Robert Justice Jordan III ("RJ"), 35, of Avon, CT passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024 surrounded by family. RJ was born on December 30, 1988 to Annemarie Jordan and Robert Justice Jordan Jr, the first of their four children.

While born with severe physical and cognitive disabilities, RJ's life was one filled with immense joy, laughter and light. There wasn't too much that didn't make RJ happy; Barney, a piano and a nice chocolate pudding did the trick. His smile was contagious and his favorite thing was making people laugh. Music was one of his biggest joys in life; he loved singing with family and singing himself to sleep. He was a gentle, kind soul, who taught all who met him about love, patience and compassion. He was a best friend to each of his siblings.

RJ was predeceased in death by his fraternal grandmother, Wanda Carter Jordan and his fraternal grandfather / namesake, Robert Justice Jordan. Besides his mother and father, RJ is survived by his three younger siblings and their partners, Connor Jordan (Ally Jordan) of Falls Church, VA, Emily Jordan (Ken Steinhauser) of New York, NY, and Catherine Jordan (Bret Clark) of Bristol, CT, as well as his grandmother Muriel Holmes of Hebron, CT, and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday, July 19, 3-6pm at Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Rd, Avon, CT. There will be a private ceremony following with immediate family to honor RJ's life. Any contributions may be made in memory of RJ to FAVARH - The Arc.

RJ attended the day program at FAVARH for nearly 15 years. With the support of the staff and other attendees, RJ had a loving, wonderful community, where he spent his days singing, laughing and playing with friends.
