Thomas Sherill Crump

Thomas Sherrill Crump was born February 16, 1927 to W. D. and Laura Harmon Crump in Ft. Worth, Texas, later moving to Hollis, Oklahoma. He went to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 31, 2009. Sherrill served in the Merchant Marines in 1946-1947. He met and married Lou Pittman, of Gould, Oklahoma, on May 24, 1948 at Childress, Texas. They made their home in Wichita Falls, Texas. He attended Midwestern University, while working at Texas Electric, majoring in Business Administration then moved to Beaumont in 1954. He operated varied businesses until his death. He is survived by his wife, Lou; daughters, Barbara Ann Tuck of Port Arthur and Jo Nan Gamble of Vidor; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Linda of Beaumont; grandchildren, Breezie and Paige Crump and Robert Gamble; sisters, Carolyn Dana of California, Jean Day of Austin, Evelyn McGee and husband Clifton of Vidor; brother, Bob Crump and wife Patty of Brighton, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his eldest son, Robert Sherrill; both parents; brothers, Darrell Crump and Garland Hayes; sons-in-law, Allen Tuck and David Gamble. He was a member of Central City Baptist Church for over 50 years, was ordained as a deacon in 2003 and was the treasurer. He was a lifetime member of American Legion, VFW 1806, serving as Chaplain and accountant and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. We'll miss you precious husband, dad, paw-paw & brother. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, June 2, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:30 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Brent Lambeth officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
