Robert Orrin Rose, 73 of Mapleton, Utah passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, June 8, 2004. He was born at the family homestead in Berkley, Mass. to Joseph D. and Zona Peel Rose on December 16,1930. He was the 7th of eight boys and was raised on the family farm with plenty of work to do. He attended grade school and high school in Massachusetts.


At age 18, he moved to California to work in construction with his older brothers. He was a true patriot for his country. He served in the Army for 2 years during the Korean War. He also served on many local committees and campaigns.


He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in accounting. He had a C.P.A. license in California, Arizona and Utah.


Bob loved the outdoors. He went hunting each year and loved to deep-sea fish. He told many stories of his wonderful adventures. He also loved sports both as a participant and spectator. He played football in high school and was on the church softball team. In his later years he was an avid gardener. His vegetable garden and flower garden were the talk of the neighborhood.


He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout his life from Primary and Sunday School teacher to Bishopric Counselor as well as serving on the High Council.


He is survived by his eternal companion of 29 years Annette and seven children: Daniel Rose (Ginette), Phoenix, Arizona; Cynthia Tanner (David), Phoenix, Arizona; David Rose (Amy), Cedar City, Utah; Timothy Rose (Melanie), Lake Tahoe, California; Michael Rose (Sheryl), Saratoga Springs, Utah; Steven Rose (Jessica), Mesa, Arizona; Douglas Rose (Callie), Mapleton, Utah; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Heritage Chapel at 1600 North Main in Mapleton. There will be a viewing held at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary.

Just a note to let the Rose family know how much we loved Bob. We are so thankful for all of the years he took care of our finances for us. He was a great accountant, a great friend and a great servant of Our Heavenly Father. Annette... we love you too!
