Robert J. Saba

Naples - Robert J. Saba, 90, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025 in Naples, Florida. Born on April 29, 1935 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Bob lived a full and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a long-standing professional career.

Through his journey of 90 years, he touched many lives with his humor, unwavering spirit of perseverance and generous nature.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He went on to graduate from Merrimack College where he met the love of his life, Peggy O'Neil, who stole his heart. Bob dedicated the rest of his 66 years loving and caring for his wife.

Bob joined Grand Union in 1960 as a management trainee and because of his dedication and outstanding results on behalf of the company, he finished his 33-year career leading the Northern Region as Senior Vice President. Bob's charitable endeavors included work with The Melodies of Christmas, a benefit for the Melodies Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, the Center for Disability Services, and the Capitol District Food Bank.

After his retirement Bob and Peggy moved from Latham, New York to Naples, Florida where they enjoyed a special time in their lives and met many new friends. Bob was well known for story-telling and his welcoming nature at the Contessa where they resided for 35 years. Bob and Peggy also enjoyed their home on Cape Cod where the family would gather for celebrations and backyard barbecues.

Bob is predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and William Saba, his brother Ronald Saba and his in-laws, James and Arcelia O'Neil.

He is survived by his wife Peggy, sister Maureen Ridenour, sister in-law Sylvia Saba, his daughter Sherill Fair (Tom), son Robert (Mark), and son Rick (Jada). He was "Grampy" to his beloved grandchildren James Fair (Alice), Alison Key (Benjamin), Christian Fair (Ashley), Olivia Gratton (Johnny); Brady and Breanna Saba, Christian, Matthew and Michael Hogan, his seven cherished great grandchildren and Uncle Bob to his many dear nieces and nephews.

Bob was committed to God and the church as a loyal parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Bob's family would like to thank Avow Hospice for their years of love and support for Bob and Peggy, with special gratitude to Eugenie, Anita, and Miriam for their devotion and unwavering support.

A private celebration of life is planned for a later date.
