My consolences to the family on your loss. I was honored to have met Lt. Colonel Sawhill shortly after his release, and 40 years later, I remember often that he served for my freedom. Thank you.

I would like to extend my condolences to family of Col. Robert Sawhill. I was his Life Support Specialist(personal Equipment Specialist back then) during 1967 and 1968 for the "Wolf Pack" Squadron stationed in Ubon, Thailand. COL. Sawhill(Major when I knew him) always had a kind word for me and the other Airmen in the Life Support Section he was well respected. I remember watching the news of his release as a POW and never forgave myself for not trying to contact him to congradulate him and the others for surviving their ordeal.
Let me salute you one last time COL.

I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to the family of Lt. Colonel Sawhill. I wore his POW bracelet proudly and still have it to this day. Rest in peace, dear hero. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
